1989 Suzuki Swift GTi 1.3 twin cam 16v

Summary:

I'll keep this car until the end

Faults:

Front wheel bearing changed every year due to the hard suspension and undercarriage bushings.

I need to replace a CV joint; last changed in 2004.

General Comments:

The car is economical, reliable and superb. Please use only original parts to save your pocket money for future use.

The last overhaul 4 years back changed all major parts, and performance has still remained until today. It's about 14 years of daily driving with no big issue.

I love this car very much.

2005 Suzuki Swift 1.5 vvt

Summary:

Very recommended

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

A very nimble car. Small on the outside, but spacious inside. Very comfortable seats. Very good gas consumption per km. However, engine needs more oomph-need to push the engine to get the torque output.

1990 Suzuki Swift GL 1.0

Summary:

A reliable car, won't disappoint you

Faults:

Interior rattling noise due plastic panels and dashboard.

Front door window rubber channel worn out.

Tiny spots on the roof from new.

Radio/cassette player eats music tapes, repaired under the warranty.

General Comments:

No power.

Fuel consumption average 40 miles per gallon.

Very reliable car, never breaks down.

Still on its original exhaust system (no rust).

Never blown a light bulb or fuse.

Covered 120,000km with one timing belt change, 3 sets of tyres, 2 batteries, one small accident & a new paint job.

This car was assembled locally here in a Volvo assembly plant, this explains the paint colour - same as Volvos and the good fit & finishing as they have been assembling Volvo cars in Malaysia since the 60s.
