1998 Peugeot 106 XRD 1.5 diesel

Summary:

Perfect for Urban Driving

Faults:

It started to knock when changing to the second gear. Then the dealer said that it knocks because of some dirt in the diesel which stuck in the injectors. Personally I don't believe them.

Started to leak Diesel from the pipe which enters the engine, but it was the dealer fault because he bent the pipe and snapped it!!!

Sometimes the passenger front door is hard to close and open.

General Comments:

This car handles perfect as all other Peugeot do and good braking too.

It is very economical, in urban driving it do 55 mpg.

Good acceleration for a 1.5 Diesel and comes great if a Turbo is fitted on it.

Front seats are comfortable.

In the back there is not much room for legs although the boot is quiet big.

Good Looking.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hi, I am not sure if it is possible to fit a turbo on a 1.5 diesel which is found in the 106. You have to consider that the engine bay is quite cramped, and you have to make some research in order to make sure that the engine truly can support a turbo. Should you would like to fit a turbo diesel engine, then you should consider the 1.4 HDI engine which is found on 206, 307.
