2010 Mercury Milan Premium 3.0 Duratec V6

Summary:

Comfortable, sophisticated and easy to handle

Faults:

The steering wheel suddenly becomes very stiff while driving. The dashboard may display the message "Service power steering now".

I don't need to replace the rack and pinion, but I know people who had this same car who did.

Stuttering when accelerating, especially when the engine is cold, or the car goes into protection mode (speed is limited) and a wrench icon appears on the dashboard.

Fracture in the wheel studs and bolts.

A valve in the ABS system's hydraulic control unit may remain open. This causes the brake pedal to feel spongy and have a much longer travel than normal before the car stops.

General Comments:

The best thing about this car is its ease of handling and comfort.

It features a spacious and comfortable interior with seats upholstered in high-quality fabric, with the option of leather for those seeking an extra touch of luxury. The front seats are electrically adjustable, making it easy to find the ideal driving position, and include lumbar support for added comfort on long journeys. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats provide versatile space management. The interior design is complemented by refined stitching details and metallic accents, creating an atmosphere of sophistication.

It also features a range of safety functions to protect its occupants. These systems include electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes (ABS), and a comprehensive set of airbags covering front, side, and curtain airbags. In addition, it has a tire pressure monitoring system and emergency brake assist, ensuring greater active and passive safety.

Aboard the Milan, the audio experience is superior thanks to the premium sound system. It includes Bluetooth connectivity, voice control, and inputs for auxiliary devices and USB ports, ensuring uninterrupted entertainment and communication with the outside world while enjoying the drive. Pretty good for a car that's almost 16 years old.

The engine is Ford's 3.0 Duratec, the same one the Fusion had (it's the same car but with a different brand). It's quite powerful and performs well, and it's a great fit for the car, especially with the 6-speed manual transmission (there were automatic options too, but I prefer manual).

If you don't drive recklessly, fuel consumption doesn't exceed 9 liters per 100 km, which I consider good for a 3.0-liter petrol.

I think it's a very good and comfortable car for everyday use; beyond the aforementioned faults, it didn't give any serious problems.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
