1989 Toyota Celica GT 2.0

Summary:

Fun little car to drive

Faults:

Passenger window.

General Comments:

I have owned over 50 cars in the past 35 years of driving. This is the second funnest car I've had. The performance is great for a 4 cylinder without a turbo.

MPG is a little less than what I was expecting for a 4 cylinder of this year, and with multi-port fuel injection there is not much I can do about it. It gets 32 MPG around town and 40 MPG on highway. I was expecting at least another 3-4 MPG on both.

Mine is a convertible, which is one of the appeals. I am 6'3" and I fit in this car nicely, even with the top up, but I love to keep it down.

I have only had the car a few months, and the only problem it had when I bought it was the passenger window won't go down. I've looked at it and the motor, the switch and relay are fine, so I am thinking a bad wiring connection somewhere, which will be a cheap fix when I find it.

When I bought it I noticed there were lots of new parts on the car. Radiator, hoses, belts, alternator and wiring harness to alternator. Someone else had looked at the passenger window also and did not re-install the door panel correctly.

As for driving it though, I love getting in it and going for long drives down the Baja.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
