1985 Alfa Romeo 90 QO 2.5 Inizione

Summary:

A very rare fast ugly car

Faults:

Nothing is really bad about this car. Most problems are electrical related, But I bought myself the Alfa 90 manual with all electrical drawings. This saved me a lot of money.

The most recent problem I have is cooling problems.

General Comments:

Its performance is great. But because of the square shape of the car this performance is only good until 170 km/hr, after this speed it is waiting for a long time.

Since the seats are high placed it tends to roll a lot in corners.

The brake performance is excellent but the rear brakes are difficult to replace.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I own an alfa 90 and I have had problems with, power steering rack leaking, weak diff, cooling system, whether or not this is the temp gauge I don't know, it also idles rough I don't know how to fix this problem. It is very fast and handles well, It's like a suit case in the dash and it's the ugliest car I've ever bought, does a very good burnout, over all it's a good car!!!

I owned for 10 years an Alfa 90 TD. I had problems with almost everything. I spent a lot of money and time with that car. Many mechanics "specialized" with my car.

Problems with transmission shaft, clutch, engine (replaced piston rings),starter, radiator, alternator, clutch plunger, power steering, radiator...

But when it was working, nobody could stand in my way.

Acceleration was impressive, the manoeuvrability was very good, though I never reached top speed.

Overall the car had a good performance and handling. But reliability was weak, probably one of the cause was the design! (over-engineering).

I did love the Bertine design.

I think that car was a pure pleasure car, not a reliable, fuel efficient commuting car (like Honda or Toyota).

You love it or you hate it! There's no way in between. I loved it!
