1991 Rover - Austin 100 GTa 1.4

Summary:

Fun to drive!

Faults:

Had to remove rust around the rear wheel boxes when I bought the car.

Rear brakes changed after 10.000 km.

General Comments:

I bought this car at a bargain price as a first car for my girlfriend. In fact, it has the best horsepower/pound ratio of all models available - in fact it may be a faster car than many other so-called 'sports-cars'.

One negative point of the car, however, is the amount of noise the engine produces, especially at higher speeds - at 120 km/hour it's impossible to converse at a normal volume or to enjoy music. Nevertheless, it's a fine car which handles well and is fun to drive.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Update on this car:

After one full year of happy motoring without any trouble, we received a nasty car from our garage. The annual technical inspection showed that our car was rusting beyond repair. Two holes at the bottom of the car had formed... so unfortunately, we have to look for a new car soon.
