1979 Buick LeSabre 350 Buick V-8

Summary:

Why did General Motors ever stop making cars like this???

Faults:

The heater core was leaking badly, a new one cost $21.00 U.S. in Niagara Falls, NY.

The vacuum advance unit for the distributor was replaced.

A new battery was installed along with two new battery cables.

General Comments:

This car has a lot of power, from its genuine Buick 350 4BBL. It quickly accelerates to 60 mph. and easily buries it's 140 km/h Canadian speedometer.

The car was imported from Alberta, Canada where road salt is not used in the winter, so the car is virtually rust free.

The car still has it's original springs, and sits as high as if new springs were installed. The car corners very flat and eats pot holes and railroad tracks for breakfast.

Plenty of room, nice large trunk.

The car is a very basic, stripper model. The words "custom' or "limited" do not appear anywhere on the name badges. It is equipped with a rear de-fogger, power brakes and steering and an A.M. radio.

I'm pretty sure the Buick 350 (engine code x) wasn't used after 1979. Yours probably has a GM 350.Way more power, but not as reliable.

The Buick Code X 350 Was used through the 1980 model year mostly in the 49 state and Canada markets.

Heck mines a 79 says it's a limited, but who know the 350 code x in it is great loads of power handles like a dream for its size I love it!!!

I've got a Palm Beach. I can't find any information on the ole car at all. Does anybody know where or how to get information on it?

Check my thread on V8Buick, it has scans of the 1979 Palm Beach sales brochure in it: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?303446-1979-LeSabre-Palm-Beach

I appreciate the owner's opinion and find his general comments rather poetic!
