1985 Chevrolet Blazer Taho 4x4 2.8L V6

Summary:

A strong runner

Faults:

Rear brakes needed work.

New tires.

Transmission burned out.

Needed a tune up.

General Comments:

A great first, second, or even third car. Except for the problem with the transmission, everything on this car was routine maintenance. I really love the handling, much better than my last car.

1985 Chevrolet Blazer 4.3L

Summary:

Wouldn't get another American built car

Faults:

I bought the Blazer because it had low kilometers, and it was in showroom condition. The previous owner babied it from day one.

I had it a month and it had to get a new transmission. $1400.00

The Stereo ate my tape and for all I know it may still have it.

The biggest snowfall of the year the 4 wheel drive stopped working.

The wind noise was bad.

There was a squeak in the rear glass that the dealer said was a "problem" with the blazer.

The parts were very expensive compared to my civic.

General Comments:

After I sold the Blazer 6 months after I bought it I talked to a few other owners of the same one I had, they felt that the repairs I made were par for the coarse for any car with that many kilometers, I would strongly suggest that you look Japanese made cars because they are just getting broken in at 100000kms. I haven't spent that much on repairs on the last 3 Honda's put together with almost twice the kilometers on each one.
