1997 Chevrolet Blazer LS

Summary:

This car is a lemon

Faults:

The E.G. valve has been replaced, which was very expensive.

I replaced the windshield wiper moter before the recall ever came out, I did it myself and didn't keep receipts so I couldn't get reimbursed.

Something inside the ignition switch was fixed.

The transmission just went out, so I got it rebuilt.

Rear black bumber has faded to white in certain spots.

Brakes have been replaced twice in thirty thousand miles.

Now, most recently It needs a tune up, and something they call a ignitor coil or something like that, has to be replaced witch is about a seventy dollar part by itself. I went to do the spark plug and wire change myself, but I quickly realized that they are about impossible to get too, and those wire clips are a pain in the butt.

The alternator has been replaced, and the whole air Condition system has been redone.

All in all, about $3500 in fixing things from 62000 miles to current, which I still haven't broke ninety.

General Comments:

When the car runs good, it has been a good car and has taken me plenty of places. The bad thing is that I'm still paying for it and can't get it paid because I keep having to fix it.

1997 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3L

Summary:

I'd be better off walking!!

Faults:

My rear seatbelt would not latch and I had to replace the entire seat (apparently it's all one part)

Gas gage wouldn't register under a half of a tank and I had to get the entire gas tank replaced.

The rear wiper decided to stop working however, the motor for the wiper kept running.

My front wipers work only when they want to. The best is that sometimes they work when I have them turned off.

I have a leak in my power steering pump that apparently requires replacing the entire pump.

I have a coolant leak that has not been pinpointed yet. Hopefully it's just a hose, but the way things are going with this truck, I doubt it.

Now the truck has starting stalling - when stopped, slowing down or even driving down the highway - - this is very scary especially because this is accompanied by many flashing lights and hard slips in the transmission.

I won't get into all of the little annoyances in this truck such as the constant squeaks and squeals or the fact that every piece of plastic in the truck is falling off.

Good Luck to anyone who decides purchase this truck!!

General Comments:

I have only had this truck for about five months and I can definitely say that this is the WORST vehicle I have ever owned. I'm now working on trying to get rid of it before I get killed with repair bills.

1997 Chevrolet Blazer Vortec

Summary:

A Lemon

Faults:

Check engine soon light keeps coming on.

When coming off freeway, automatic transmission hesitates between 1st and 2nd gear when starting up from a stop sign.

Motor mounts are broken. I do not have enough money to repair them.

Door hinges are rusty, and need to be replaced.

General Comments:

I believe this car is a lemon.

I believe the dealership sold it to me knowing it had serious problems, but did not inform me.

I bought this car for my wife, who is arthritic, because it was easy for her to slide into and out of. I told the dealer this was a retirement vehicle and I feel seriously betrayed.

I had a similar problem with the check engine light coming on and the truck losing power. Took it to the dealer, they dumped the codes and it turned out to be the ignition switch. They replaced it and I have not had the problem since.
