1972 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside 350 V8

Summary:

Unbelievable for a pickup

Faults:

Speedometer stopped working.

Headlights burnt out.

Mirror fell off due to defective aftermarket part.

General Comments:

Bought it in Michigan for $7,000 and appraised at 14,000. Truck will really move when you ask it to, and will leave a trail of smoke behind you. Original leather bucket seats are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in before, pretty unique for being so old.

Fully restored with some engine upgrades, puts out about 350 hp.

Real eye-turner. People always start conversations at the pump. Gets about 10mpg, but is worth it.

It's the most awesome color I've ever seen on a truck--a dark blue from Dupont, one that you can seem to stare into, and see on and on.

Fairly loud, but healthy, exhaust note. Gurgles at idle, roars at throttle. I love this truck.

1972 Chevrolet C10 delux 350 V8 4 barrel carburetor

Summary:

This truck is a mean Chevy classic

Faults:

The gas pump broke on July 4, 2001.

There is some dry rot on the dash board.

The carburetor has gummed up slightly over the years.

The wheel wells have rusted a bit.

General Comments:

The overall appearance of the truck is stunning. When I drive it almost every where I go, people offer to buy it. The "Green Machine" however, is not for sale.

The engine is in rather good shape. It is the original. Seals need replacing and the carburetor need to be rebuilt. I plan to do this as well as full exhaust replacement (from the block back) within the next 2 years.
