2003 Chevrolet C1500 4WD 4.8

Summary:

Could and should be better

Faults:

I purchased the truck from a dealer. It looked like new and had 30k miles on it. After 6 months, all brake lines had to be replaced. Same thing happened on my brother's 03 Silverado also, one week earlier than mine.

Soon as I got the brakes fixed, the fuel gauge quit working. Had to have the entire cluster replaced at the dealer. Not long after getting it back, the oil pressure gauge stopped working. Still haven't had that fixed, and probably won't.

I have always bought Chevrolet trucks, but after seeing the cheap parts they are using nowadays, especially brake lines that rust away at only 42000 miles, I am thinking of switching to Toyota, I'm sorry to say.

General Comments:

The Silverado performs quite well, on and off road, and is quite comfortable. It has plenty of power. It's a shame Chevrolet has to cut costs by putting on cheap parts, especially when it comes to safety.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
