1993 Chevrolet C2500 Silverado 5.7 liter

Summary:

Get one!

Faults:

Replaced tires, and exhaust.

That is all, fantastic truck!

General Comments:

Great truck, everything still works, even after all those kilometers. Amazing!

Fuel economy is not great, then again it is a 5.7 liter.

I would prefer 50 kms per 4 liters... dream on baby.

1991 Chevrolet C2500 Silverado Extended Cab 5.7L V8 TBI OHV 16v

Summary:

Greatest truck for its time

Faults:

Water pump went out way back in 2003.

Alternator in 04.

New steering column in 07.

Not many problems.

A/C & some heater went out, but I don't remember/care when.

(some dumb s**t backed in to me on the job site, so caused a $500 thing on his 07 F150, but neatly nothing on my truck) - the bumper smashed on a side, popped it back into spot.

General Comments:

Great truck.

This is comfortable to ride off road in, and the suspension is nice.

Seats are good.

Drivers seat is individual, and the rest is bench seating in front & back.

The engine is still original, along with everything else, and could easily do over 120 MPH.

1997 Chevrolet C2500 EXT. cab. long box 5.7 V8 gas

Summary:

If maintained properly, with the right know-how, it will probably last longer than you

Faults:

I don't really have any problems with my truck until now I just changed the whole front end (inner and outer tie rods, upper and lower balljoints, shocks and springs, idler arm and pitman arm)...

No problems other than regular maintenance.

General Comments:

This is a good truck. I bought it with 100,000 kms on it, and now just recently past the 450,000 km mark and still going on all original motor parts (i.e. water pump, alternator, fuel pump, and everything under there.)

Apparently, before I purchased the truck, it was owned by a lumber company and pulled fifth wheels all day. I still got the trailer hook-ups and slots marked in the bed of the truck, and the plug-ins...

Very reliable truck, oil changed every 5000 kms, and trans. fluid changed every 10,000 kms along with a flush, other than regular maintenance (oil, tranny fluid, ball joints and tie rods (every 50,000 kms I change those or every six months whichever comes first which), fuel filter, radiator fluid/flush) I perform myself, I have never had any problems with my truck.

I live in northern Saskatchewan (Canada) and the nearest city is five to six hundred kilometers away, and I don't even burn half a tank going there, very fuel efficient truck and I've got a heavy foot.

She (the truck) still runs great, the body is in excellent shape, just fixed a couple rust patches in the summer and touched up the paint, looks like it just rolled off the lot...

Top speed is almost 190 km/h..

Overall, just a great truck, I absolutely do not regret buying this truck, if I could buy another I would do it in a heart beat, I like fixer uppers, so to speak.

It's a Chevy 350 under the hood, of course it's a good truck!

1997 Chevrolet C2500 Silverado 5.7 liter vortec

Summary:

I am very happy overall with the truck!

Faults:

I have had the brake lines go out, from sitting for a year at about 150000.

At 120000, the fuel injector clogged and I needed to have them professionally cleaned as well as a sensor fixed.

At 210000, the arm for my wipers broke and had to be fixed.

At 211000, the latch is currently broken on the inside drivers door.

All seem to be normal worn out stuff.

Around 200000, the roof started to rust along the wind shield.

General Comments:

I have had nothing but a great experience with this truck. I have been very happy. I have been working to keep it up and restored.

For being only 2 wheel drive, this truck has a great deal of hauling power, as well as handling Michigan winters very well.

No problems with the transmission or the motor.

1997 Chevrolet C2500 Silverado 5.7L

Summary:

Strong... very well designed and built truck!

Faults:

1) One water pump 20,000 miles (replaced under original warranty)

2) Brakes at 60,000 miles!

General Comments:

This truck was a daily use work truck for the first nine years of ownership. (lumber racks and shell) Hauling lumber to job sites.

Now it has a Lance camper that weighs in at around 2500LB's (try that with your Toyota Tundra!)

This truck has not had an easy life, but I took good care of it maintenance wise. (the engine, trans and rear end have never been opened up... or worked on!) And it still runs and drives great, I would have no problem driving across country with the camper and all... We have plans this summer to do just that.

Eleven years into owning this truck I got to say it has never let me down! I can't say that for the two Fords I had... prior to this Chevrolet!
