1977 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 350ci (5.7 liter)

Summary:

Great unique high performance bargain

Faults:

Replaced starter twice, once at 50,000 miles, and once more around 150,000 miles.

Rebuilt the motor because of cam wear, and a few dead cylinders, at 165,000 miles.

Recently been having brake problems.

General Comments:

Fun car to drive, looks very cool, very unique design, especially with T-Tops.

Gets people attention, and keeps it until your over the horizon. nice for cruising around town, or short road trips under 200 miles.

Can get about 10 to 15 mpg if driven normal.

Only lap belts, no air bags, or other safety devices.

Can find one in good condition today for under 5,000 with nothing wrong with it, or a "wore" one that still drives great for around 2,000.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a '77 Camaro Z28 Type LT and it is a very nice car. It handles great and turns quick like it's supposed to. Only problem I've had with it is a blown valve in the master cylinder and a leaking heater core. Other than that it is a great car to cruise in and always turns heads. It also picks up quick with the 350 that my uncle installed and it rarely dies out unless it's freezing out. It's great car with a nice solid engine and suspension.

A 1977 Camaro should have shoulder belts in addition to the lap belts unless someone cut them out.

Awesome cars though that handle far better than most people nowadays think, especially with a few upgrades.
