1986 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 5.0 liter V8

Summary:

One of the most well built cars of the 80's

Faults:

I had to replace the water pump.

I also had to replace two thermostats.

After that the fuel pump went bad.

General Comments:

This car has been very good to me.

Despite the few parts that I had to replace, it still has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. She starts right up every day. I just keep up on routine maintenance. (change the oil, tune ups, etc.) I have taken good care of her, and she takes good care of me.

This car is also impressively quick for an 80's car. She's never been quick of the line, (0-60 in about 7 seconds),but she makes up the difference in a 1/4 mile. (about 14.5 seconds.) Of course I can't say that she's all stock. I put flowmaster exhaust on from the (cat) back, threw in a K&N air filter, and she also has an accel ignition system. (Cap, rotor, wires, and plugs.) In the near future more modifications will be done.

1986 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta Sport Coupe 2.8L V6

Summary:

One Sweet Ride!

Faults:

Replaced brakes and rotors at 143,200 miles.

General Comments:

I've only had the car for 2 months, but in that time I have had NO real problem with it. There are a few minor things that need to be worked on, but nothing a trip to Auto Zone can't fix.

I am amazed at how a car this old can look and run as good as it does. The engine runs perfectly. It doesn't smoke or leak anything. The interior is like new. The headliner is beginning to sag, but other than that it is perfect.

I think that I got a pretty sweet deal for only $3700.

1986 Chevrolet Camaro Sport coupe 305 CI 4 barrel

Summary:

A great car with a lot of power for a little cost

Faults:

I just bought this car three months ago as my first car. My friend sold it to me for a very good price. The only parts that I have replaced are the power steering pump and the shocks and struts. Just recently I put a high performance air filter with a nice chrome Chevrolet cover on it. Throughout the three months that I have owned it, I have put quite a few performance parts on the car. It is now running about 250 horsepower. It got me down the quarter mile in 14.8-15.2 seconds and the quarter mile speed was 115-120 (depending on driver error). The inside is like new as is the motor. The paint was faded, so now the car is primer gray. It won't be long before it is nice and bright red though.

General Comments:

This is a great car.

The only complaint is the handling in the winters.

1986 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe 2.8, V6, Multi-Port

Summary:

Good deal, Good on gas, Good everything

Faults:

Let's start here. I put a new starter in it, I also put a oxygen sensor in the car. But the most major project would be the motor I just put in, Along with that motor, I also had a BRAND NEW water pump and alternator put in it.

Somewhat satisfied, Let it sit over the winter because the winters in Northeastern Pennsylvania are pretty bad. Sat in my garage from middle of November to this month.

General Comments:

I honestly do love this car, It's my baby, I have gotten into races. I beat a 2002 Cavalier LS Sport, 1989 Ford Mustang GT (Believe it or not!!)
