1980 Chevrolet Citation X-11, 3 door Hatchback 2.8 V6 four speed

Summary:

The X-11 is an underestimated performance car made by GM

Faults:

Engine block cracks. Bought with car.

Head gaskets blew at 470,000KM.

General Comments:

I bought this car mainly for the body and interior.

The interior is black, and was in near mint condition when I bought the car. The interior had three pieces that needed to be replaced. One was the ashtray cover, because the right bottom corner cracked and fell off. The others were the headliner and the driver's side seat belt cover.

The body was in good shape compared to my other three Citations. It needs a new driver's side floor pan, rear wheel wells and a left side rear fender.

This car is under going a full restoration, and receiving lots of upgrades with the newer engine from a 1981 X-11. These cars are very strong; you can mount so many different engines in these cars than you would ever think of.

Check out this club to see what's been done to these cars http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chevycitationsforever/. Everyone in this club is every helpful. Check it out.

I'm not going to tell you what can fit under the hoods of these cars. You have to join the club to find out. Please, if you're just going to make fun, DON'T even think about saying anything. Not all people like the same things, however if you're interested in learning about what the X-11 really is and can do, then check out the club.

This car was GM's first front wheel drive muscle car ever made.

Hey I have to agree. We had a 1982 Chevrolet Celebrity with the Z, engine as well. What was that 138hp as apposed to the 118hp right. Well the Celebs came with the 3 speed auto only, but for a car back then the performance couldn't be touched by many Audi's etc. Regardless, chev has to go back to their grass root days and stick to the tradition of the X-11 sport cause those are fun cars. Keep it up.
