1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 5.7L DOHC LT5

Faults:

Ride control actuator failed ($400 plus about 6 hours of my time), climate control computer ($1100!), oil leaks ($200 in parts and about 15 hours of my time to fix), innumerable squeaks and rattles -- inexcusable in a car with 28k miles. And don't even bother asking a Chevy dealer for help fixing it...

General Comments:

Marvelous engine (despite the oil leaks), awful car. Brutally fast, but wanders all over the highway, hops sideways over bumps, ride is beyond harsh, frame flexes terribly. A toy, not a real car.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

You should try the new Z-06.

I bought a 1990 ZR1 last year with 18K miles, have had zero problems, handles like a true sports car, no 'wander'... it is a brute that is meant to be driven hard.

It cost me $25K and I love it! I also have a 95 ZR1, same goes for it.

Last month I took delivery on a new Z06, great ride, good power, BUT... for sheer fun, I like my ZR1s!
