1997 Chevrolet Corvette 5.7 LS-1

Summary:

A head turner that walks the walk

Faults:

I have owned this car for a little over four months and I have not had one mechanical problem. It runs great!

General Comments:

The throttle response on this car is incredible. The LS-1 really throws you back in your seat! The handling is excellent and you can take turns tighter than you could ever imagine. The interior is fitting for the car, it has the luxurious feel of a Cadillac, but the muscular sports car look to it. Trunk space is limited so don't expect to be packing a lot of bags! It's overall a great car and I would definitely buy a second one!

If you like the car, then why did you say you would not buy another one?

1997 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 5.7 LS1

Summary:

A high performance, head turning master of the road

Faults:

The timing belt came off once, and the steering column security lock made my steering wheel lock. Was a recall, so the car was picked up and serviced at no cost.

General Comments:

This car is everything I thought it would be and then some. I have owned many Corvettes, and the C5 design is a total blast to drive. From its styling to the interior and the speed; the whole package. Chevrolet did right by the new Corvette.

I don't believe the Corvette LS1 V-8 engine has a timing belt...

The LS1 engine does not use a timing belt. I'm not sure what this guy is talking about.

My 1997 C5 Corvette has been a great car to drive. Aside from the name, it's nothing like the 1976 L48 Stingray I used to own, although I miss it at times. I'm a stock kind of person when it comes to Corvettes, so I have made little or no modifications to this C5. I still can't believe how nice it drives, suspension wise, as opposed to my 1976 Stingray. That was probably one of the most noticeable & significant improvements from the 1996 Corvette. Keep the wave alive!
