1994 Chevrolet K2500 Silverado 5.7/ 350 TBI Gas

Summary:

Well built machine!

Faults:

I have had the front right CV shaft go at 175,000.

Rear axle seals started leaking.

Brake rotors just too small for big truck, warping.

Front driver seat had actually broke to rock like a rockingchair.

Radiator went bad at 198,000, oil cooler line same time.

Heater blower motor bearing went during cold winter.

Rear u-joints replaced at 180,000.

General Comments:

This truck is great for towing, pretty descent power.

Overall has been very reliable, while some things did go bad, I caught them before they would have actually caused larger problems.

Pretty bad gas mileage all around, 11 mpg if lucky, down hill, with wind!

1994 Chevrolet K2500 Silverado 5.7 V8

Summary:

I love it

Faults:

The only thing that has gone wrong with my truck is that I went through three starters and one power steering hose.

General Comments:

I love this truck; it has power and it tows really good.

Some bad points are that it gets only about 8-10 mpg city and 13 highway, and the turning radius.

2002 Chevrolet K2500 LS 6.0 Vortec

Summary:

Best truck I ever had!

Faults:

The only problems I had is I constantly have to put daytime running lights in it. Like every year or so.

General Comments:

Very good running truck. It breaks the tires loose very easily.

The gas mileage is pretty good for how big it is (crew cab 4x4); about 16 MPG. I have a Flowmaster muffler and a K&N air filter on it, and that gave it a little bit of a power increase.

It handles any load I had on it, and I am very impressed with the truck. I'll never own anything but Chevy from now on.

1993 Chevrolet K2500 6.2L Banks turbo

Summary:

Excellent hauler, looks great

Faults:

Injection pump at 129,000, normal maintenance.

Injectors at 163,000, normal again.

Alternator at 140,000.

Burned the transmission up pulling a car up a hill. Driver error. Rebuilt to much better specs.

New radiator at about 133,000.

Normal maintenance done.

General Comments:

Great truck, extremely reliable and easy to maintain.

The 6.2 engine delivers 21MPG in 6200LB dry weight truck. Truck is becoming heavily modified with 20" rims, lightning, stereo, and some engine mods. 4x4 is useful for pulling things out of mud and sand.

It is a extended cab, long bed, and turns and parking are fun. I back into every parking spot. Would not recommend for someone who is used to driving anything smaller than a barge.

I love this truck and will own it until it dies, which will probably be never considering I can fix anything that goes wrong with it. Can't wait to keep modifying the truck and see what I can do with it.
