1976 Chevrolet Malibu Classic 305

Summary:

I love her, she's irreplaceable

Faults:

Right tail light melted due to improper exhaust placement.

A/C quit prior to ownership.

Heat vent flap cable seized (impossible to find).

Original radio barely has sound.

General Comments:

76000 miles and finally parked, I'm replacing the 305 with a custom 427sb, and the 350 turbo trans with a Tremek T56. I'm also quad mounting a Detroit Locker 3:73.

I'll most likely keep the original color (red), a new coat of course, and replace the white vinyl top, which would still be in good shape if a horse hadn't taken a bite out of it.

I'm also finding it hard to find replacement interior vinyl in white.

Summary:

Bad ass car!!!

Faults:

Car had been sitting for about a year so some hoses had to be replaced. I have only had the car for a month, and I guess I am going to have to have the brakes looked at because I think the master cylinder is gone.

The car is in excellent condition!!! Interior ALL ORIGINAL! Runs GREAT! 64,800 ORIGINAL miles when I got it last month!

I get an offer EVERYDAY to sell the car! It is a 4 door, all original paint too!

I have a 4-door 1976 Chevy Malibu, under 100,000 miles that belonged to my grandmother. Has always run great, very fast, but I haven't used it a quite a while so it's been sitting there, so I brought to a shop for a check-up. It has a fair amount of rust on trunk and around rear window. Guy in auto shop said it would take probably $2000 to change out all hoses, etc. etc. so that I could drive it safely and without worrying that it will break down or not start. Prob. not worth it ot me as I have another car. Should I donate it, sell it on ebay, or try to sell it for parts?
