2018 Chevrolet Malibu LT 1.5 turbo gasoline

Summary:

Very good car; does it all for us; will buy again

Faults:

Recall for possible oil leak from Start-Stop Accumulator; didn't happen, no leak.

General Comments:

Fuel mileage is excellent. With my calm, non-pushy driving style, 40 MPG and more is easy, but it comes down with urban driving.

Heater controls are uncomplicated and very accessible, with a knob each for temp and fan speed; buttons for vents. Settings are retained on restart.

80 MPH on freeway is effortless and quiet; amazing for only a 1.5 liter engine with turbo, of course.

Rides very well. Engine idle is very smooth and quiet. 87 octane fuel is specified.

Plenty of leg and footroom in the back seat. Compact spare is included. There is a handy vertical bump/projection at the center rear of the dash so my GPS does not slide off and does not block visibility.

Trans is normally very smooth, but is a bit confused sometimes when accelerating after not stopping completely. It's easy enough to opt out of Start-Stop with the trans lever and knob button each time the car is driven. The trans does not too easily downshift for a moderate grade.
