2003 Chevrolet Silverado LS 5.3L V8

Summary:

An exceptional truck!

Faults:

Nothing wrong.

General Comments:

The Chevy Silverado 1500 LS, Extended Cab, 4x4 with the Z71 package is an excellent pickup.

I've only had the truck for about 6 months and I've already got 16,965 mile on it with no major problems. The only problem I've noticed was that the driver console displayed that the 4 wheel drive needed to be checked, but this went away after the next start. I've used the 4 wheel drive since then several times with no further problems.

I currently get about 16.8 MPG on the highway and average 15.5 overall. I've not tracked the city MPG, but I'm sure that it is probably around 10-11 MPG.

The sound produced by the Bose speakers were a pleasant surprise and I would recommend them to everyone.

The six way adjustable seating is very comfortable and eliminated my back problems while driving long distances. I typically drive an average of 2800 miles per month with about 2000 of the miles being highway mileage.

The coin holder located under the tilt lid in the center console is a little inconvenient, especially if you keep item on top of the lid. You have to remove the items first or they will fall between the passenger seat and the console.

If I were to purchase another pickup right now, I would definitely purchase another Siverado pickup, but.

I Also had the same problem with the 4wd light. But now I have 47,000 mile on mine and now the light won't go off so if it come on and you are under war. TAKE IT IN. I am hoping I will not be charged for the problem because I took it to the dealership to be fixed and I thought they fixed it.NOPE.I looked back at the paper work and the solution said PARTS ORDERED. Some kind of relay.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado W/T 2-WD 4.3L Vortec V6

Summary:

Nicely Built Pickup truck

Faults:

So far nothing at all has went wrong. This truck seems solidly built and dependable.

When clutch pedal is released quickly after starting the engine there is a small clunk from the clutch when it engages the flywheel. But nothing major and this only happens when letting out the pedal very quickly.

Factory radio needed replaced with an aftermarket Alpine to get good sound.

General Comments:

4.3L Engine performs well, but is a little underpowered for a truck. If I were to buy over again id get the V-8.

Seats are comfortable and ride is quiet. The handling is the best out of any truck I've tested. All the controls are logically placed and easy to use. Nice gauge cluster with all the important info you need. The lights are bright and perfectly aimed from the factory. Locking rear differential really helps it go in the mud and snow.
