Nothing really. Just got its first brake job.

General Comments:

This is the basic Silverado 1500 work truck. It does have auto, A/C, 4 wheel drive, cruise, and Bluetooth. I use it for basic around town transportation and light hauling (usually for neighbors and friends). I don't tow or plow with it.

This truck has decent but not tremendous acceleration. It does cruise real nice, handles well, is quiet and, best of all, the seats are 'man' size and comfortable! I could drive this baby all day without complaint.

It gets about 17 - 18 MPG around town, but up to 24 on a highway trip. Not bad for a truck. Putting it into 4X4 mode is easy and it does well that way in snow. Also the standard radio has great speakers.

Faults:

Absolutely nothing. It just runs.

General Comments:

After driving my bought-new 1990 Ford F-150 for 21 years, it was time to buy a new truck.

The new 2011 Chevy really won me over when I test drove it.

Looking under the hood, I noticed that there's more room to work on it, do maintenance, etc. than the other brands I looked at. But the only thing I have done is change oil and fluids.

I do my own maintenance and don't modify my vehicles. The dealer never saw it again after I paid cash and drove away in it.

This truck is the Silverado K1500 "Work Truck" basic model and is my primary personal vehicle since July, 2011. My friends kid me, tell me I look like I'm on company time with this white, fleet looking vehicle. :-)

It has manual roll down windows, manual locks which I prefer.

I have no complaints about this truck, I'm not self-important, overly sophisticated, or hard to please.

I like the much cheaper price of the basic model and there is less to go wrong.

I can operate any of the controls (HVAC especially) by feel, without taking my eyes off the road.

The fuel economy is pretty decent for this type of vehicle. Have reached 21 MPG on a highway trip, keeping my speed down to 65MPH.

Will likely drive this truck for over 20 years like my last truck.

Faults:

The dash squeaks a little bit at different temperatures.

The temperature control and fan speed button coloring / lettering has faded and is worn in spots.

General Comments:

I've owned several new Chevrolet pickups. So far I've been very happy with my 2011. The 6.2 engine is absolutely incredible, and has a nice factory exhaust tone. The truck drives nicely, and the cabin is fairly quiet. The truck has plenty of power, and can handle just about anything.

Fuel mileage isn't the best at about 12 MPG around town, and 17-18 highway, but it's worth it when the accelerator is pressed.

There are minor annoyances like a random dash squeak when the weather is cold, but otherwise, I've had no issues.

All in all I'd buy another one, and am happy with the truck.

Faults:

Oil pan gasket failed at 21000.

Dash controls wire harness broke at 23000.

Oil pan gasket failed at 27000.

Sensor on oil pan leaking at 28000.

Throttle body failure at 35000.

It's always minor problems one after another with this truck. It has never left me stranded, but it's brand new and shouldn't have had this many issues.

General Comments:

I really try and defend my Chevy, but it's making it an uphill battle.

I use my truck for things like towing our pop up camper, going fishing, getting lumber and moving ordinary household items. I get decent gas mileage of approx. 19-20 MPG.

I am glad I bought the 100000 mile bumper to bumper warranty now. Because as soon as I get close to the end, this truck is getting traded in.
