1997 Chevrolet Truck CK1500 SILVERADO 5.7 LITER

Faults:

Front brakes having the typical problems, pulls to the right, but not from alignment or suspension issues.

Hard shift 1st to 2nd.

Transmission oil cooler lines leaking at the crimps

Engine light on

Leaking coolant fluid.

General Comments:

When everything is working, the truck feels and drives great. I, along with many others, question why I purchased an American truck in the first place. It's not as if Chevy engineers forgot about silicone and other traditional gasketing materials... These problems seem to be engineered failures.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I have a 1997 Silverado 1500 and I have 162,000 miles reading on the odometer. This truck still runs like I bought yesterday. The only problem I have come upon is the coolant leak. But that was cake. I would just like to say that with a little care this truck can go a long way.
