1999 Chrysler 300M

Summary:

I love the styling of the car, and the performance is more than satifactory

Faults:

I have had to replace the transmission sensors; this happened while still under warranty.

The main issue I have had with the car since it was new, is the interior lights flicker on and off while driving. Also they will come on after the car is turned off for 15 seconds, and stay on for about one minute. This continues to repeat until the battery dies.

The other thing that happens is the alarm goes off about one minute after it has been activated. To stop both these issues, I have removed a fuse, however this fuse also controls the power door locks, the radio and temperature control center.

I have had this in the shop four times now, and they can not tell me what is causing this, however I have spoken to a number of other 300M owners that report having the same problem.

If anyone knows how to correct this problem, I would appreciate a response. Other than this problem, I just performed standard maintenance and the car performs well.

General Comments:

Some of the plastic parts are starting to break; that's to be expected on a 10 year old car.

The body style is still one of the sharpest on the road for a four door.

Hello, I had the very same issue, but with a 1999 Intrepid: the solution was to clean the dim lights button. I moved it thoroughly up and down for few times, and I changed its normal position and the problem was solved. Now I own problem free a 300M Special, and I`m soooooo happy with it.

Correction, I disregarded the alarm going off. Definitely, the problem is one of the door switch being worn out. I used some plastic self adhesive pieces and installed them in such a way that they helped to depress harder the switches when the doors were closed. It's the cheapest and fastest way to solve the problem.

1999 Chrysler 300M 3.5

Summary:

The best luxury sport sedan

Faults:

Nothing gone wrong with it. The only thing that I had was the driver's side radiator motor fan was dead, but I replaced myself for $20.

General Comments:

I love it so much!!! Just because you don't see too many 300Ms on the road today, and because it's fast, comfortable and reliable.

My friend has a 300M, and he has 500 000 km on it and it's still running like new.

Summary:

I love this car and you will too

Faults:

I would like to know if anyone has had their air conditioner come on every time they start up their car?

Also, the light for the alarm comes on and stays on until the car is shut off. This concerns me and I don't know what to do. It hasn't stopped me from driving, nor has it stopped the car from performing normally, and that's great; I just would like to be able to drive without pressing the 'Off' button for the air conditioning 100 times.

Lastly, the numbers on the panel in the ceiling have something to do with it, because if the Temp says 80 and I put the A/C on 80, I can push the button maybe 20 times and it goes off, but sometimes it comes back on. Please help me because I don't have a manual with my car. Tell me how to fix this. Thank you for your help.

Transmission solenoid went out 3 times!!! Seems like every 7 months I have to replace it and it is expensive.

Leaks antifreeze.

Seats are motorized, which stopped working.

General Comments:

I did love the car's speed.

It would be a good car if the transmission stopped going to second gear.

Nice body.

I regret getting rid of my Mitsubishi Montero.
