1997 Chrysler LHS 3.5

Summary:

An all around show stopper

Faults:

Nothing (yet)

General Comments:

I am 17 years old and have searched for many cars over the last year in a $7,000 price range. When I went to a local Chrysler dealer I was instantly attracted to a 1997 LHS. This car fits me perfectly since I love old man cars. So far the car has been pretty good. I have only had to replace the battery, and tires. I recently put a huge system in the car. The vast trunk space makes it easy for my two 12 inch subs to fit. However installing the system was difficult because these cars have limited room in the engine to run a power card through to the inside. Overall I am trying to go for the most unique LHS in the world. My plans are 16" custom chrome wheels, tint all windows, LHS decal on upper windshield, and neon lights all over. This ride is already equipped with a sound system loud enough to shatter glass, a Detroit D on the back windshield, and two neon lights inside, and two neons outside. Wish me luck on my journey to make my car the pimpest LHS in the US.

I have the same year car, and I have done everything to it that you wanted to do. I put lights in and out of the car. I put 4-12" W6 woofers, and 2-1000\1. And I put 20" custom chrome rims. I also added cool chrome tint to all of the windows. It looked good, but I went through 5 alternators. The A/C control went out, the blower never shuts off. The turn signals just went out when driving out of town. Good luck.

Actually, a dual battery setup is MORE of a drain on the alternator!!! Den.

Dude, you like old man cars too, you rock. My mom has one of these, it is badddd, the best part is turning off the trac control and flooring it. BURNNNN, it actually leaves marks, and I can really amaze the hell out of people.

General Comments:

This is my secound LHS. I love these cars. I had 95 then traded for a 97. The 97 model no longer has the trouble with the headlights at night. I do think that this 97 doesn't have quite the same guts as the 95, even though the engines are the same size. The car is loaded with comfort. The interior is huge. My husband is 6'2, and has more than enough room. The handling is amazing for such a big car. You have to learn to trust them, the speed they can take around a curve is stunning for their size.
