2000 Chrysler Sebring Convertible LX 6 cylinder

Summary:

I like the car, dislike repairing it, will sell next year

Faults:

1. Electric mirrors did not work.

2. Three weeks to repair.

3. Driver's door panel fell off during the three week repair time.

4. Brakes squeak, unresolved.

5. Electric rear window defogger does not work. Three weeks now, unresolved parts on backorder. Rear window to be replaced due to this problem.

General Comments:

Every auto I have purchased has been new and this is the worst dealership I've dealt with. They don't seen concerned that the car is in the shop a full day plus each time some repair is needed. With four thousand miles the car has been in the shop five days from 7am to 6pm and once overnight.

I have a 2000 Sebring JXi and I love it. I get nothing but compliments!

The only problem is that it is a lease and I gotta give her back in 18 months. Other than that I have had only one issue. At the four month point, the windows got stuck in the down position. I left the windows down once before a storm. Rain disabled the contacts after a few sprinkles... my fault right? I can admit user error...

I also have notice water leaks in at the car wash. Oh well so much for convertibles and carwashes...

Summary:

Overall it's a nice car

General Comments:

Love the styling and the comfort of the Sebring Convertible. My only complaint is the awful trim colors available. Top color choices: Black or Tan Where is the White? - for a couple of years White was offered, but only with White paint. Consequently, since the paint was a "bright" White, after a short while the top looked like it needed a good cleaning, but if offered with a colored paint the White top I think would look sharp!

The same goes for the interior trim colors: Black, Tan, Greenish/Grey. The Greenish/Grey was only available on White or Silver cars. Who ever thought Black was a convertible interior color must not ever have owned one - between the scorching heat if parked in the sun with the top down and the instant dusty look.

As far as the Tan, Tan is just Tan unless you like it. Again where is the White?

I've previously owned 2 convertibles and had White interior in both - It's much cooler than the dark colors and as far as dust and dirt, it doesn't show the dust as fast as Black and for dirt, unless you have small children or take pets in a convertible, it doesn't show the dirt any faster than Grey or Tan.
