2000 Daewoo Nubira SE 1.8

Summary:

Beats the competition - at a bargain price!

Faults:

Nothing - car is running beautifully.

General Comments:

Car out-performs the Civic, Corolla and Protege, and looks better.

Very nimble handling and excellent acceleration.

Low road noise compared to the Honda and Toyota (and Ford Focus).

Nice ergonomics and it fits a tall person, unlike its competitors in this class (I don't fit into a Honda or Toyota without leaning the seat back - and Hyundai headroom sucks so much I gave up trying).

2000 Daewoo Nubira SE 2.0L DOHC

Summary:

High performance alternative

Faults:

Runs rich after some simple mods to the motor (ECU over-reacts to increased airflow).

General Comments:

I've never owned a car that performed so well with so little work done to it.

I haven't had any problems with my car so far (except a rich mixture). I drive my car to and from work shifting just below redline and racing every Honda, Mitsubishi or Toyota willing to try to keep up.

2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX Wagon

Summary:

The Daewoo Nubira has a lot of nice features, but it is not reliable or practical

Faults:

I had to have the cam sensor replaced twice. While this is covered under the warranty, it takes them about a week to get the part. If this happens again, I will ask for another vehicle.

General Comments:

It's really too bad about the cam sensor, because other than that, I love the car. It is comfortable to drive, and a great value for the money. However, it does not get the 26/32 mileage advertised; more like 17/22. Of course, I live in Atlanta and the traffic jams are horrific...

Because of a sensor you concluded that this car is unreliable? You're amazing man...

Other cars have serious problems like transmission problems, misfire, engine dying on the highway, blown head gasket... and you complain because of a sensor...

2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX 2.0L

Summary:

Powerful commuter car, priced quite well, mileage could be better

Faults:

Nothing yet.....

General Comments:

The cup holders have got to be the worst thing I can see about the car. Although the MPG is not quite what I would like to be getting. The gas mileage is of course the drawback to having a powerful little commuter car.

2000 Daewoo Nubira SX 2.0

Summary:

Great value

Faults:

Defrost button sticks, haven't taken it to the dealer yet.

General Comments:

Excellent value.

Great pep from the engine. Test drove a Kia and it's got a lawnmower engine compared to this, no matter what the HP ratings of the engines say.

You will not get power everything, great acceleration, Sony CD as standard for this price.

Gas mileage below what was advertised though. Lucky to get 400km on 40L highway.

2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX Wagon 2.0

Summary:

Try and find a car with the same options for the same price

Faults:

The only problem I have had is a Kumho Ecsta HP tire was defective. There aren't any Kumho dealers in town, so I'm still waiting for a replacement. The dealer has been very accomodating and has put a different tire on till my new one comes in. I have also ordered a full size spare.

General Comments:

For the first six month of ownership it has been a very good car. It pulls my small boat and trailer over the mountains easily. It also has plenty of storage room. It is comfy both front and back. My biggest complaint it the low gas MPG, 26 in the city, 30 on highway and of course those pesky cup holders.

2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX Wagon 2.0 DOHC

Summary:

The best value on the market

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car has been a pleasure to own so far. The only complaints I have is the cup holders could be relocated to a different position instead of in front of the radio controls, the driver needs a longer armrest, and the alloy rims are a bit hard to clean because of the fussy design.
