General Comments:

The best vehicle I've owned; sure I've done a few things to it, but all of it was easy peasy.

I had an ongoing issue with the old carb, but once the new one went on it's been smooth running.

Not much of a highway runner, but does great in the city.

I've loaded the back of it up more than my passengers were comfortable with, but I knew she'd do just fine.

I get comments on it everywhere I go.

Great truck, one of the more reliable ones you can buy that are 46 years old.

Not sure if the mileage on mine is original, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was able to take her 100,000 miles on the current drivetrain.

An all around solid truck.

That's a long list of faults for a vehicle you just bought last year, even an old one. Whoever owned it before must not have been big on maintenance.

And why would your passengers care about how much you load the back with, unless they have to ride back there too?

Not bad... after 45 YEARS!!!

These were the pizza delivery vehicles of choice in the 1970s in NE Philadelphia... couldn't kill 'em :)

1971 Datsun 1600 Pick-up

Summary:

If you got one of these, you are one of the lucky ones on earth!!

Faults:

The gas tank rusted out just because of no use for a couple of years.

Clutch needs replacing, but what can you expect? It's a 1971 car!!!

Seats are worn, but we got a cover on it, so it looks nice.

General Comments:

This is a great pick-up for just a "chores around the house" truck, as well as bigger jobs too.

I love this truck!!

Still runs great!

Small cab, but economical.

If you ever see one of these that a person is selling, consider it, because this is a great pick-up just to have around the house.

Plenty of power for jobs around the house.

Dash cracked from being out in the sun. Just one of those things.

This truck was a 521 in Canada. I bought a '72 built before the switch in Feb. It was a great truck, I'm trying to buy it back. I have only seen 1 other one. Mine had no rust (odd for Canada) 50 000 miles. Always ran, even though I drove it hard (had it on two wheels).
