General Comments:

This car is essentially the "base" edition; however, I'm impressed by all the features and amenities this car has. The Charger is surprisingly luxurious.

I know, I got the V6, not the more desirable V8, but I have to say that it packs a very impressive punch nonetheless. It'll be on the highway doing 75-80 mph and you won't even know it. The engine also can move the large, heavy Charger in a hurry if you want it to. The engine is also extremely quiet while cruising or idling.

Being a large, full-size car, the Charger has a good amount of interior room. I never get uncomfortable in this car, no matter how long I'm in it. Trunk space is also very good.

The interior is a bit austere, but it's a Dodge. If I wanted more luxury, I'd have opted for the Chrysler 300. Dodges are more performance-oriented, and here it delivers, despite the smallish engine. Build quality is good and while the inside is not as pretty as a Mercedes-Benz, it gets the job done and costs a lot less.

The ride is actually extremely good. In fact, this is one of the best things about this car. It is extremely smooth. On the highway you barely feel anything, which helps you lose your sense of speed. For a Dodge, I did not expect this as all, but was pleasantly surprised with the softness, which is great for cruising.

Like the ride, the steering was also surprising soft and loose. It doesn't take much effort at all to steer the car to where you want it to go. However, the car still can handle well for its size.

Gas mileage is actually pretty good, which is great considering the size and weight of this car. I routinely get around 23 mpg around town and 25-28 mpg on the highway, which is great considering that my old Chrysler Pacifica only managed around 19 around town and 23 on the highway (and it had nowhere near the power of this car).

My biggest complaint about this car is the transmission. In my opinion, the 8-speed automatic is a nuisance that bottlenecks the car's performance, especially when accelerating. It's always upshifting or downshifting or trying to shift or something. When quickly speeding up on the highway, the transmission often takes too long to get the hint and downshift. When hard accelerating from a stop, it spends too much time cycling through every one of the low gears, which hurts acceleration. In my personal opinion, Chrysler needs a more reasonable gearbox (preferably with fewer speeds), because this one isn't the best.

All said, it's a very nice car and I have no regrets about buying it. For the price, it offers a lot and it's a solid driving experience. My biggest gripe is the gearbox choice, but other than that I have no real complaints. The comfort, ride, handling, and overall driving experience is very good and I look forward to many long-range drive experiences with it.
