1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z 2.2L turbo
Sweetest 80's sports car ever!
CV axle blew at 99k miles, and brake lines blew out at 103k miles.
Brake lines blew out due to rust. It was a Pennsylvania car all its life. Road salt caused bad undercarriage rust.
First got this car when I was 16, and had it until I turned 20. Absolutely loved it to death; the only reason I sold it was because I joined the military, and my dad didn't want to take care of it while I was gone.
Mine had the Super 60 package, so performance computer, camshaft, injectors, and manual boost controller. Super fast, super reliable, and super comfortable. I've never driven a car that had a more comfortable driver seat.
Mine was a loaded model with leather, sunroof, 12-button navigator, and other goodies. Mustangs and Camaros were always embarrassed to find out they were beat by a 135ci 4-cylinder Dodge.
I would highly recommend any Daytona to anyone who wants a cheap, reliable, and fun to drive car. I own an '88 Daytona Shelby Z now at my current assignment, and it's even more of a blast to drive!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
