2000 Dodge Intrepid ES 2.7

Summary:

Piece of junk... and I am being nice when I say this..

Faults:

Since I have had the car, many things have gone wrong.

First... has anyone had problems with the car when it is hot outside? My A.C. will not work, windows will not roll down, and the air bag light comes on and I hear a bell noise. When it is not so hot... everything works fine.

Next... the seals are shrinking. I had to make a cut in the lower part of the seals and put them back on so they would stay on. Now all the seals have a 2 inch gap in them.

I had to replace the engine also, costing me almost 4,000, and have had many brake and front end problems.

It is a shame that a car can ride so good, but be mechanically a piece of junk... Dodge should be ashamed to put out such a trashy car. They should be shunned by the automotive community and sanctioned by the government. The owner should also be compensated for all the expense we had to endure...

General Comments:

Dodge should be ashamed to put out such a trashy car.

2000 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 liter

Summary:

These cars should be recalled

Faults:

I loved this car till the timing chain broke and ruined the engine. I had just paid it off when it happened, and I always got the oil changed when it needed it, because the same thing happened to my cousin's 1999 Dodge Intrepid.

I'm severely upset to hear that so many others have had the same problem; Chrysler should not get away with this, it's just not right.

General Comments:

Junk.

2000 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 liter

Summary:

Good looking, but crap

Faults:

Shortly after purchasing the car, the remote would no longer open the trunk and neither would the button on the dash. Not long after that, the power door lock on the passenger rear door would make a horrendous sound when locking (finally disconnected the thing).

Then I found out about the 2.7 liter curse. I quickly changed to semi-synthetic oil and then full synthetic on the change after that. By then I was fed up with the car and proceeded to sell it. About a 2 months later I got a telephone call from the buyer. The engine had blown.

From all the experiences with that car, I would NEVER purchase another Chrysler made vehicle.

2000 Dodge Intrepid ES 3.2

Summary:

So so

Faults:

* In & output speed sensors.

* Steering column, rack & pinion.

* 4 new brakes & rotors.

* Soon new head light covers.

General Comments:

I drive 600 miles a week for work and for the weight of the car, the engine really gives it a lot of pep.

I think my next call is going to be a Dodge Charger or Nitro.

My family have owned nothing but Dodges, and have had very good success with them... I am hoping to get 200+ out it, and at the rate I am going, I should.

2000 Dodge Intrepid

Summary:

J-U-N-K

Faults:

Engine timing Belts (x2) door locks buzz fixed (x2) still don't work.

"rack and pinion" replaced $2500.

Engine light came on today what next I wonder?

Spent $4000 in repair fees in last 2 1/2 years.

Stay away from dodge vehicles! Run don't walk!!!

General Comments:

You gotta be kidding me. I ll never buy another dodge or chrysler product as long as I live. I wouldn't take one if given to me either. You are actually better off making your payments and storing this thing until it is paid off. Then sell. you will save money by doing so. Trust me on this one. J-U-N-K. This vehicle is trash and chrysler is CRIMINAL for selling them. Id love to get you in court. Morons.

2000 Dodge Intrepid ES 3.2

Summary:

Nice for tall people like myself, but a piece of CRAP

Faults:

I have a sunroof that has leaked ever since the day I got it.

My brakes have been replaced, 1st the front and back. It shakes when I get it to a certain speed and then brake.

I know probably most of these are dealer related since he screwed me over with a piece of ****, but I will probably never get another Dodge because I haven't had a good experience with this one.

I had the same car for five years and except some small annoyances related to the quality of the roads, she performed like a champ. Maybe you know that knowledge is everything so I will help you with this one: in order to get rid off the shaking problem, replace the front rotors. An honest price would be around $70.00 each plus maximum 1 hour labor so it will be a pretty cheap one. Best luck with your mechanics...
