1995 Dodge Ram Pickup SLT 5.9 liter

Summary:

Love it

Faults:

The only thing that has gone wrong since I owned it, is the front axle seal leaked.

General Comments:

There is nothing wrong with the 1995 Dodge rams. It is more spacious than any other regular cab I have drove or have ridden in for that matter. I would not hesitate to buy another Ram truck. All in all it is a very good machine.

1995 Dodge Ram Pickup 3500 SLT 5.9 fuel injected

Summary:

It is one tough truck

Faults:

The transmission went twice, once at my cost, because the transmission cooler got plugged. The second time the dealer had to come good for it. They forgot to put a new transmission cooler in the first time.

Rear bearing went, burnt the hub off, had to replace the rear axle.

General Comments:

The motor must have been one of the good ones, it has never been touched by a wrench, except for regular oil changes.

The truck is as tuff as a tank, I have put loads on it that would make other trucks run for the hills.

The only bad thing I can say about this truck is, it rides rough because of the heavy springs in it.

I have a 1995 3500 Diesel duallie with 456K miles and she hauls a trailer everyday all day and has since I got her November of '95. The transmission IS the weak link and has been overhauled 3 times, but never due to a real transmission failure. Each time the factory cooler lines leaked (broke) causing all the damage. I finally replaced the lines with metal braided hydraulic lines with the appropriate fittings and end of problem. It has been well over 100,00 miles since the last rebuild. The seats worn out, but she has basically no rattles, except the left window regulator. The A/C is still cold, but the turbo is shot, but she still hauls everyday. I would buy another one in a minute if I could afford one. I want to put 1,000,000 miles on this one first though. You know, just to get my monies worth out of her!?

1995 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 Laramie SLT 5.9 V8

Summary:

A total gas hog and an 8800lb collection box

Faults:

The left rear brake was unbalanced at inspection. Fixed under dealer warranty.

After that, the brake and ABS lights came on together. I was scared to drive the truck. Finally, a dealer took a trade on it.

If you get a truck like this, the ABS may go on you. Watch out.

General Comments:

It was good for hauling light furniture but it had an appetite for 87 unleaded. The gas gauge never showed a full tank and I think the low gas light actually blew out. I have no freakin' idea why Dodge didn't have dual fuel tanks as an option.
