1974 Fiat X1/9 Stock, no radio, no air 1.3

Summary:

A time-capsule example is not fair for comparison

Faults:

After a 25-year nap in a Toronto warehouse there was rust in the gas tank. I've doubled up the fuel filters and strained it out. The fuel tank leaks, from the sender, and I have to stay at 1/2 tank or I'll drip. I'll try to have a professional repair on that this year.

I had a heater valve fail and drop coolant into the passenger foot well, but it was replaced for about $25.00.

I get wonderful motoring pleasure from this car. I treasure it.

General Comments:

The handling is awesome, it is nailed to the road.

Not a lot of power, but at 2,000lbs, how much do you need.

I've got after-market rims and wide tires that soften and smooth out the ride I'm sure. I have the original tires and rims with plenty of rubber remaining on them.

My drivers door is a little quirky, sticky, and perhaps I'll have it adjusted. No rust, at all.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
