Faults:

Cab leaked water around the satellite radio antenna, but the dealer fixed this the same day, and no further issues.

General Comments:

Love this truck. Use it to pull a 23 foot 4700 lb. travel trailer; good power, great ride, quiet, comfortable. Definitely the best truck I've ever owned, and I plan to hang onto it for a long time.

My wife was scared to drive pickups before, but even she likes to drive this truck. Traction control and anti lock braking system both rock in winter conditions.

Faults:

I had a "blue wrench" warning light signaling that the motor was in "get home" mode. It locked itself in 2nd gear and seemed to limit the engine's RPM (but I didn't push it). I took it directly to the dealer, who kept it for a couple of days. It turned out to be a metal shaving caught in the sensor for the transfer case. The dealership took care of it - no additional problems.

I am wearing out the fabric on the driver's seat.

General Comments:

I love driving this truck. It has good power, great brakes, and handles the snow and mud with no problems. I like the 9" of clearance. Being a little older, I even like the "sissy step" in the tail gate.

There is a half second delay between putting your foot to the firewall and the transmission kicking down. This can seem like a really long delay if you needed the power several seconds ago.

The first shift of the day is hard. After that, the transmission shifts like butter.

I am averaging 16.5 MPG with a mix of freeway and city street driving. On a long road trip with a mild load, my gas mileage averaged 19.7 at 70-75 MPH.

Faults:

The rear doors on my Supercab were improperly adjusted from the factory, which caused them to rattle. The dealership promptly corrected the issue and the rattle is gone. Thank god... I was about to shoot my new truck.

The front left fender was about 1/8" inch too low from the manufacturer. Ford's body shop promptly corrected this issue as well.

The front tires both were wearing on the outside after only 1500 miles. I took it to the dealership at my 3k oil change and they re-aligned at no charge. My concern with this is that when they gave me the alignment sheet... the alignment was out by exactly the same amount on both sides. Seems that the factory has some bugs to work out.

All three issues that I have with this truck have been slight factory oversights.

General Comments:

This is by far the best truck I have ever owned.

The interior is roomy, but not too big.

Steering is precise, but not too sensitive.

Power is adequate, although it seems to shift at the slightest touch of the accelerator. Running E-85 gains a significant power gain, but the mileage is terrible and the computerized fuel management is more or less useless.

When running e-85, I can drive 5 miles and the DTE (distance to empty) gauge says I have driven at least twice that distance.

The stereo system is awful. I have never had such a pathetic sounding stereo in my life. My 1998 Tacoma with 300k miles and a stock stereo still had a better sound quality than this.

The sync system works perfectly with my phone and is easy to setup. With my iPod however... is another story. The sync system has a long way to go before it will be considered user friendly.
