2007 Ford Ranger Sport 3.0L V6

Summary:

I absolutely love my Ranger

Faults:

No problems or concerns, no repairs, no squeaks, no leaks.

General Comments:

I fell in love with my 2007 Ranger the minute I test drove it. It's a great looking & well built affordable truck that's fun to drive and very versatile. It's comfortable on long trips, packs plenty of gear, handles well and has enough power to safely pass & accelerate on the highway. My Ranger has given me 100% reliability and I am very pleased with the treatment I have received from the Ford dealer. The maintenance is less than half the cost of maintaining my Honda Civic with far better quality and reliability. I feel far safer driving this little truck than I ever did driving my Honda or my Toyota and am convinced Ford is the way to go for me.

My son also bought an '08 Ranger and continues to have an excellent experience, friends & co-workers own 3-10 year old Rangers and love them as well.

The Ranger is a long proven little workhorse with a huge following, very popular with the average income and younger crowd since the early 80's. A great truck for the money!

One word of caution - for anyone thinking of buying one of these excellent trucks new you better get one before the end of next year as Ford is saying they're pulling the Ranger off the market for 2-3 years to replace it with the F100, then re-introducing them with a 4 door option, as they have in Thailand and abroad.

The Ranger is the most reliable small truck ever built. It is affordable, rugged and amazingly easy on fuel consumption with the 4. I've owned 3 4's and 1 V-6. The new 4 has ample power and is the highest mileage of any small truck.

Summary:

Good truck for the price

Faults:

Check engine light came on at 12000 miles.

General Comments:

I like the comfort and overall design of my Ranger.

It gives no trouble pulling 1800lbs. of trailer and ATV's 36 miles one way. I have also put almost a ton of egg rock in the back and hauled it home. I do not recommend anyone do this that lacks driving experience. I could only drive 35 mph with this load, but my truck never let me down. However it did make me nervous.

The one complaint is the complete lack of throttle response from a dead stop with the a/c on.

Overall this is a good looking and tough truck. Can't really complain.

Congratulations on a really great small truck. I have owned 4 Rangers and none ever had one single problem. They are the toughest small trucks built.

As for power, I added a K&N high-flow filter, a Flowmaster muffler and changed to synthetic oil in my 2006 3.0 Ranger Sport automatic. This seemed to help. After break-in and those changes mine would smoke the tires taking off, while it would not even chirp them when new.

I never hauled anything heavy in my Sport, although I did haul a few VERY heavy loads of granite stone in my old XLT. Yes, it WAS tricky. The rear tires were squished down, and I have no idea how much weigh was in it. The front tires had a very tenous grip on the road, and maintaining 70mph for the 40 miles of freeway travel was a little scary.
