1994 Geo Tracker 1.6

Summary:

Perfect

Faults:

The only thing I have put in this car are new tires and shocks.

General Comments:

I bought this car in 2006 as a work rig. I had a 36 foot toy hauler. When I got to job sites, just back it out of the back of the toy hauler and I have the perfect rig to drive to my job, saving tons of fuel money and miles on my tow truck.

1994 Geo Tracker

Summary:

I love my Geo, and will buy another Geo someday when I have money, and thank you for the Geo

Faults:

4 wheel drive hubs on the wheels froze up after a few years of not using 4 wheel drive.

Soft top stop fitting on the back corners when putting the soft top back on after using it as a convertible.

Engine went out at 120,000 miles, and had to replace the engine with a used engine with 75,000 miles on it.

General Comments:

I love my Geo Tracker, but I do find that the seats needed a little more cushioning for comfort. I can't afford a new vehicle at this time, so I rely heavily on my 16 year old Geo Tracker for all my transportation needs. Additionally, I kept my Geo Tracker because it was the exact right height for my wheelchair bound 93 year old mother. She can stand up from her chair and get into and out of the Tracker with no difficulty.

I washed my Geo a few weeks ago, and I still get comments when I'm out on how cute my black/Burgundy fade Geo is, and when I tell people it's 16 years old, they can't believe it.

1994 Geo Tracker 4X4 1.6 liter

Summary:

The 94 Geo Tracker is a good value

Faults:

My thermostat, clutch fan, head, water pump, heater coil, all part of the cooling and heat distribution systems were all damaged because I drove the Jeep 8 hours straight. I had to change the wheel bearings too. For a 4 wheel drive vehicle it is not cheap.

But after 1200 dollars in repairs, it has been a very reliable vehicle.

Furthermore the seats wore out, and the cloth top leaks; I believe because of age. And the power steering pump leaks.

General Comments:

The 1.6 liter 4X4 Geo Tracker is a good vehicle in terms of reliability.

Performance wise it lacks acceleration between 2000-3000 RPM, with only 85 horsepower. But I will admit it is great on gas; I pay an average of 18-20 dollars for a full tank of gas.

For the price I paid ($500), I got great value. Thanks Geo for a good build.

1994 Geo Tracker LSI 1.6L 8v

Summary:

Love it, buy one

Faults:

Front wheel bearings shot, replaced for 40$ per tire and easy to do. Top was starting to crumble, bought one off of ebay for 150$. Needed an alignment. Tach was making noises so I sprayed WD40 down in the line and was good after that, easy to do.

General Comments:

This car is sweet. I love the colors these cars came in, very original. The manual handles great. Seats are comfortable. While my wife was pregnant she loved to sit in the Geo rather in our Subaru. Driving with the top off is very fun. I bought a speed chip off of ebay for 99 cents and a cold air intake for 8$. Boosted the performance quite a bit. Driving on the highway above the speed of 75mph does make the car shake a bit, I'm trying to figure that out. I am never going to sell this car. I love it too much, probably more than any other car I had. I noticed if I run 91 octane the performance is noticeably better than 87 octane. I know gas is expensive, but I live on an Air Force base so I get the discounted prices, so I could care less about spending to much. Chicks dig the car.
