2004 Honda Accord LX 2.4

Summary:

Above average in quality, craftsmanship, economy

Faults:

NONE.

General Comments:

Good value for the money. Safe and dependable, very inexpensive to operate. Easy to park and get around city driving. The 2004 body style has good eye appeal and is well suited for driving three kids to school. We drive it on trips less than 400 Mi for the great fuel mileage approx:30 to 34.Trunk has good space for a car of this size. Cloth seats are a little too firm for our taste, but;it will probably wear good over the years.

... just bought a LX V6! It was like that when drove for the first time and is very quick. 0-60 around ~7 sec. Didn't find any rattling sound yet. Got better warranties because I bought a used 2005 car with 4730 miles on it. I purchased the transferable 84/100K Honda care by paying reasonable extras. Maybe this will help to get the better re-sale value in the future. This is my first new car.

2004 Honda Accord EX-L Coupe

Summary:

Reliable car in a great package, just don't expect a plush interior or superior ride quality

Faults:

The top rear brake light went out at 3,000 miles. The dealer repaired it in under 10 minutes and it was covered by warranty.

General Comments:

The gas mileage was very disappointing. The EPA estimates 24-34 miles per gallon. I never got better than 28 mpg even on the highway. Typically, on mixed driving I only got 24 mpg. Acceleration was better than expected, quite a lot of get up and go from such a small engine though.

The front seats were very uncomfortable. I'm not sure if this is due to the fact that I am tall, or if everyone gets a terrible backache after only an hour in the car.

There is a lot of road noise.

When it was cold out, the dash/windshield made a rattling noise. Never could figure out exactly where it was coming from.

The interior of this car in very pleasing to look at. Mine was silver with all black interior. Expect the black to show every little piece of dirt though.

I would have kept this car for a lot longer and probably continued to enjoy it, but with a 2-door and a baby on the way I had to upgrade to something bigger.

I'm guessing you have an auto trans. I have the EX-L with 4cyl and manual trans. I get 30mpg in the summer and no less than 26 in the winter. Highway is much better.

2004 Honda Accord LX 2.4

Summary:

Excellent built car

Faults:

Speed sensor in the right wheel malfunctioned, replaced under warranty.

Nothing else!

General Comments:

Excellent reliable and inexpensive car. Runs great, doesn't eat gas, just a fun vehicle to drive. Lots of cabin room, will definitely get another one as soon as the lease is done.

I've had the Accord since 2003, but it's a 2004 model, and my first import car. It's definitely worth the money I'm paying, I actually feel real safe in this car, and just love driving it. As for quality, as I've said it's my first import, I don't know what kind of cars, Honda used to make, but I am very satisfied with this one.

But I will definitely will never go back to American cars, my Dodge gave me 4 years of constant headaches and worrying. I guess it will be Honda and Nissan from now on.

2004 Honda Accord LX 4-cylinder

Summary:

Despite the build-quality, it's still a pretty good car that gets great gas mileage

Faults:

I had my Accord Coupe for only a few weeks before the interior rattles began. A few months later the A/C began clunking when I turned it on, so I brought it to the dealership... They said there was nothing wrong. Now there's a grinding noise when I switch the fan from blowing on the floor to defrost (or any other setting for that matter). Not only that, but little things have gone wrong too: The passenger-side interior door handle is peeling from the door, which looks bad, but doesn't feel like it's going to break much more. That and the paint chips/scratches very easily (it's pearl gray).

I've called Honda and explained these things along with some other problem I had specific to the dealer where I bought my car. The only response I got was a Honda survey in the mail. I filled out the survey and reiterated my problems, but never head a thing since. It's too bad that a company seems not to care much about their customers.

General Comments:

Overall, it's a good car despite the problems, I'm not too disappointed in my decision to by an Accord. The 5-speed manual is slick. The engine is very smooth for a 4-cylinder and felt more powerful than the Camry, Mazda 6 or the Nissan Altima. The car has good ergonomics, plenty of room and is fairly nice to look at (the coupe anyway). One other issue I have is that the slightly harsh ride along w/thin padding on the seats does make long trips kind of rough.
