General Comments:

Most reliable car I have ever and will ever own. A quarter century, nearly a quarter-million miles over mountains, fire roads and freeway, used as a pickup truck, cargo hauler and daily Los Angeles commuter, and it's still going strong.

Almost every major component of the vehicle has been serviced/overhauled/replaced at some point, but it's still on the same engine, and repairs are always much cheaper than another car. The engine itself has never been overhauled.

The carburetor is finally dying, perhaps partly due to the ham-handed work of a bad mechanic years ago. Once overhauled, I expect mileage to return to the 32+ MPG city, 45+ highway it has always been.

The CRX drives like a slot car. Power loading and 5-speed gearing are perfect, the seats are comfortable for extended trips, and the layout is ergonomic without the alien pretentiousness of some newer vehicles. This car is a singular and timeless statement of efficiency like no other model since; even later versions of the CRX. My only complaints are that Honda no longer builds them, and it's virtually impossible to get parts. I have been spoiled for any other car. Onward to a half-million miles!

These are cool little cars. I have been noticing good condition ones are starting to get more expensive and collectible; lots of people used to own one and want one again. Hold onto yours!

1984 Honda CRX Si 1.5

Summary:

The CRX is great because it is affordable and reliable

Faults:

The seats are torn up and foam is coming out of them, it makes them itchy, hard and uncomfortable.

The carpet needs replaced.

All are problems of wear and tear over the past 23 years.

No mechanical or electrical problems, just general maintenance.

General Comments:

The CRX is very reliable, I've never had any major problems with it.

It's a very affordable car to own. For example a full tank of gas lasts me around 2 weeks and only costs about $15.00 and 6 months of insurance is only $100.00.

1984 Honda CRX

Summary:

Great car that won't die

Faults:

I bought this car in 2003 for $200. It has been totaled with a recontructed title. Odometer broke at 211000 miles. My guess is it has over 300,000 miles now.

Heater fan wore out.

Valve cover leaks.

Burns some oil.

Clutch beginning to go out.

General Comments:

Great gas mileage. I get over 40 MPG in the condition it is now. The original owner said she was getting 55 MPG when new.

Sits low to ground.
