General Comments:

We had trade in our 2000 Town and Country Limited for this, because the Town and Country was giving us way too many problems, and we wanted a new minivan that would be way safer and more reliable for our kids to ride in.

We chose the Odyssey because our neighbor had just purchased a 2004 model, and we fell in love with it. We went to the same Honda dealer that our neighbor got theirs at, and bought ours. Our Odyssey is red and is the top of the line model.

When we bought the minivan home, our kids fell madly in love with it on the spot. All of us agree that this was the best purchase that we made. The kids had so much to say about this baby, and so do we. The interior alone is way, way better than the 2000 Town and Country. Versatility? Way better.

It is much faster, and way, way safer than the 2000 Town and Country. Plus, it is roomier than the 2000 Town and Country.

We still own the Odyssey, and we still love it to death. Our kids got a bit older, but they truly love this vehicle. We plan on keeping it for a while. It has been problem free, and is always ready for the family road trips.

We strongly recommend this vehicle for anyone who needs a great family minivan that is roomy, very comfortable, very safe, and very reliable. You will love it too like we do.

Faults:

Just general maintenance. My transmission failed at 75000 miles, and even though I didn't purchase an extended warranty, Honda covered more than half of the repair under warranty. They are definitely a reputable company.

My van is at the dealer now getting a timing belt at 90000 miles, and they told me I need new motor mounts. A lot of people complain about the cost, but a mechanic friend explained how high tech the motor mounts are. They are filled with a dampening liquid that reduces vibrations differently at different RPMs. $600.00 is a small price to pay so my kids can watch a movie without the screen shaking like my sister's Nissan Quest.

General Comments:

The rims peeled a little bit, and my dealer told me it was because I hit a pothole or a curb.

Faults:

The clock light went out and requires the entire dashboard to be pulled to fix it.

Passenger door buzzer goes off frequently, although the door seems to be shut.

We had both these problems with out previous Odyssey as well.

General Comments:

This is generally a wonderful and reliable minivan, but the electrical glitches are annoying and expensive.

Faults:

Purchased car in 2004, for the past 8 months the shift lever gets stuck in park or drive at least 3-4 times a week. Sliding doors jam up whenever this happens. Taken to Honda dealer 4x already, and still trying to fix problem. Cost of $600 so far with another $600 estimate. American Honda says we have to pay for this because we did not purchase extended warranty. Who would do this with predictions of such early problems??? Car is still new!!! Very disgusted and unsatisfied.
