General Comments:

After replaced and cleaning up the car I personally like the car a lot. I would probably own another one, but it takes money to run it. If you maintain it after you fix what is wrong it's a fun car. This car has been the best driving I have owned and the cockpit is roomy, but the back seats are very uncomfortable.

1993 Hyundai Scoupe LS

Summary:

It has heart... and some problems

Faults:

Alternator just went out again-- this is the 2nd time.

Failed emissions test 3 times.

Replaced C. Converter

Passenger automatic window doesn't roll down.

Hood starting to rust.

Paint by mirrors peeling off.

Various minor repairs under the hood.

General Comments:

It really hasn't been that bad of a car. When it works, it's great.

However, it does sound like a go-cart. It's so loud when you step on the gas, and it takes it awhile to get going.

It sounds like you're going from 0 to 60mph, but you're really only going 20mph.

It shakes when you get above 75mph.

The interior looks great though.

Seats in great condition.

Nice sporty body style.

Easy to park in small spaces.

Honestly, I will always love my Scoupe. It has heart! But I'll be selling it soon for a younger car with a lot less mileage. It was a great first car.

1993 Hyundai Scoupe LS 1.5 turbo

Summary:

Economical sports car

Faults:

It burns a little oil, and some of the sensors are going bad.

Also, the dash and interior is starting to get damaged over time.

General Comments:

It has some minor problems, but it is a hyundai with 100,000 plus miles. What do you expect?

When you're flying past cars that are half as old, and twice as much money... you'll know why it's a good deal.

1993 Hyundai Scoupe LS 4 banger

Summary:

My love and total obsession

Faults:

Just tonight the power windows went out on the passenger side.

General Comments:

I love my car. It has been one of the most reliable cars that I have ever owned or heard of.

I would reccomend this car to anyone. This car has become a barn car, all terrain vehicle and my ghetto fabulous car... There are parts of my car that are held together by zip-ties and duck tape. But I love my car to death.

I recently put an Eclipse system in it with subs, and my car bumps really hard now.

I rarely go anywhere without being looked at it my car... This is why she got a sexy and exhillerating name...Roxane. She is known everywhere. I love that car. Please if you have one baby it like it was your own child or one of your appendages... I love my car. And forever will live Roxane.

OK I am from PUERTO RICO. I don't have any problem with my Hyundai Scoupe. It gave me excellent service; I used to travel every day to sanjuan (1 hr trip). You know with the highways here they have HIGHWAYS in big mountains.

I bought it for $1,100.00, only had to replace when bought the windows regulator driver side, two window controls.

It was an automatic transmission, an I bought a manual transmission and I replaced it.

There is non turbo model, but I buy the turbo manifold to add the turbo system; it's my fascination!

The power window failure is due to the power window switch on the drivers or passengers side. This problem is common on all scoupes. You can fix the problem by finding out which power window switch is faulty and then removing the switch. These switches can be taken apart, and the contacts cleaned, at which point the switch will function well for 1000's of K's.
