2007 Hyundai Sonata

Summary:

We love it just not the MPG we expected

Faults:

Not the miles per gallon they said!!

General Comments:

We love our new Sonata. However when we bought the car they stated 29 city and 36 hwy MPG and we are only getting 20mpg city. The commercials even state up to 38 MPG. Has anyone else had this problem, are we driving it wrong or do they just lie about MPG. We bought it for the gas mileage and even though we love the car and have no complaints it's still frustrating when we think we'll get more MPG than we are now getting!!

No Hyundai Sonata is rated to get the MPG you said (at least in US gallons). They are rated at 24/34 for the 4-cylinder manual trans, 24/33 for a auto, and 20/30 for the V6.

Also, give it some time for the engine to break in. Remember, good mileage is primarily up to the driver, not the car.

2007 Hyundai Sonata GLS 2.4

Summary:

Poor design

Faults:

Hello

I have a 07 Hyundai Sonata. They say they want me to be 100% satisfied. Well first the car is very comfortable. It has a lot of suspension noise that the service department says is normal. They say the suspension must make noise. This about my twenty first car. I never heard any suspension noise. The gas tank when 3/4 to full sloshes gas and makes a banging noise you would not believe. The replaced the gas tank and its the same. I called Hyundai consumer department. They say they know about the problem since the 2006 Sonata. Quality I hear. How come they can't design a fuel tank like everyone else.I'm also glad I didn't opt for the 6 cylinder. It is another design goof. The intake manifold has to be removed to change the spark plugs. The cost today is about $800.Quality maybe design No way.

I have heard about the suspension noise in earlier 2006 Hyundai Sonatas, but this has been corrected for the most part. I have a 2006 Sonata GLS manufactured in January 2006 and it does not have suspension noise except on the very roughest of roads. Also, I do not hear any of the gas sloshing noise that is referred to.
