2004 Infiniti FX35 sport package and touring 3.5

Summary:

I will have to sell it after having it one week unless I can figure out the front seat

Faults:

Seats are the worst design I have ever seen. My right leg hurts every time I get in the vehicle. If someone makes a kit to extend the seat controls out away from my leg, I would be glad to order one.

General Comments:

Great looks and unbelievable handling.

Yes, sell it. If you can't be comfortable, it seems a shame to drive such a magnificent vehicle.

2004 Infiniti FX35 6 cylinder 280 HP

Summary:

Outstanding vehicle, wonderful performance and styling, definitely one of a kind

Faults:

No problems to date.

General Comments:

One of very few sports car SUV's available, very distinctive styling, very unique. The entire care has a sports car look and feel, yet I can still go to the local hardware store and take home a stack of 10 foot long lumber with no trouble.

The car feels as though it's European rather than Asian.

Difficult rearward vision when backing, definitely get the backup camera package.

Dash controls require you to look at them to adjust.

Firm ride in the Sport package, just what I was looking for since I prefer sports cars. If you want a more supple ride try the base package or another vehicle. Plenty of power from the V6 and decent sound from the exhaust. This is a performance enthusiast's SUV for the guy who has family but still wants to maintain a unique vehicle and sense of style.

The auto transmission can be a bit jerky in auto mode in very cold weather, however the tranny is perfectly smooth above 60F. The manual mode is tons of fun, but can take some getting used to for a person transitioning from a stick.

Never thought I would own an Asian car, much less an SUV, after driving only European sports cars for the last 25 years, but I really enjoy this vehicle.

Sir, you might be interested to know that Infiniti is a subsidiary Nissan, which in turn is controlled by a share-holding bloc consisting of the French government and the French auto manufacturer Renault, which is in all probabilities the most quintessential "European" car-maker there is. As a matter of fact, the styling of Nissan group cars are heavily influenced by its parent company, especially after the management by Ghosn, a Brazilian affiliated with the French auto industry.

Nissan and Infiniti have used BMW and Mercedes as examples for years now, which is a good thing. They combine the reliable engineering of a BMW with the style of a Mercedes, and Presto! There sits a winner. To top it off, their onboard electronics are even more reliable than BMW's. I am a BMW owner and have been a Mercedes owner more than once, so I know what I am talking about, especially since I work on my own cars for everything, but the most complicated, time-consuming repairs. Good work on the FX, Infiniti!

I love my FX 35 AWD. It's fun, fast, reliable, distinctive, and loaded with the best technology I could afford, the tech package. Aside from the limited rear visage and occasional problems with cars approaching from the backside, I have no real problems (and the rear camera takes care of that mostly). It can haul enough to satisfy me and the family. I drive a lot, and often find myself out late at night driving home, so the Bose system and in-dash CD player make these hikes spectacular. I had to be sold on buying a Japanese vehicle, and an SUV was a tough sell for me. I have been a long-time BMW owner, and my wife now drives an M3; but I absolutely love my car. Great decision.

2004 Infiniti FX35

Summary:

Great, but Infiniti does not support current owners

Faults:

Recently I was rear-ended. The car needs significant body work. It has been sitting at the body shop because they can't get the necessary parts from Infiniti. VERY frustrating.

Field of vision out of the rear of the car is not great.

Ride could be smoother.

General Comments:

Quick and fun to drive.

Great handling. Distinctive styling is obvious.

Well designed on the interior.
