1993 Infiniti G20 2.0 4 cylinder

Summary:

Best car I've ever owned out of around 10 or so

Faults:

Trans axle CV joints, electric trunk latch, weatherstripping, fuel injector, cruise control doesn't always work properly - That's it!!!

General Comments:

This is without doubt the best car I've ever owned.

I'm big on reliability, and this car has been very trouble free. Compared to a junk Toyota with hundreds of problems, it's like being in heaven. This car puts Toyota to shame. It's no wonder they use Infiniti engines in their race cars.

A great blend of good gas mileage, excellent performance, good seating and cargo capacity, and comfort with many nice features. A real gem. Worth its weight in gold.

A joy to own and drive. It can't last forever, but it seems to be doing just that. Major wear parts are still good after 150K miles. No new belts, hoses, starter, water pump, alternator, radiator or even light bulbs (except each headlight bulb)! The original parts seem to last forever. I change brakes and tires and that's it!

If you are shopping for a good used car, this is it!

Huh? Toyota uses Infiniti (AKA Nissan) engines?

1993 Infiniti G20 SR20DE

Summary:

Best deal on the road

Faults:

Trunk pistons never worked, and the A/C compressor went out, but it was 12 years old. Passenger side window motor was not working correctly.

General Comments:

I love the G20 line of cars. Reliable, good looking, and very economically feasible. I wish it had more torque, but it drove great.

If you are looking for a great car, great looking, cheap, and a great community, get a G20, then come on into G20.net. :D.

1993 Infiniti G20 2.0

Summary:

A good first car for a kid

Faults:

Long list...

Starter, alternator, cat-converter, a/c, radiator... around 100 000 tranny started getting jerky.

General Comments:

Pretty good car.

If they had it in manual id definately soup it up, but since those are hard to find, and if you do they usually have a bad 5th gear... I'm selling my car.

This car is definately sporty and luxury, but I've had many problems with my car and I'm just tired of it and ready to move on.

Bought the car from my mom, who bought it from a private party back in 97. I've owned the car since 02 and have treated the car pretty well.

I forgot to add in the list of problems...

Rear power antenna, ABS sensor got loose, trunk release.

1993 Infiniti G20 4 cylinder

Summary:

It's a wonderful value. I'd buy it again

Faults:

The wonderful thing about Infiniti is that they provide bumper to bumper service for the car under warranty. With the Infiniti extended warranty - that goes for 7 years. Even though the warranty has long expired, every once in a while, if they think something is a manufacturer problem, they cover it anyway.

Things that have gone wrong:

Under-panel kept getting torn in the first few years. They must have changed the material. It no longer happens.

The window motor has been replaced twice. During heavy rain it seems to have a problem getting wet - then, the window won't close, once you open it.

(Replaced by mfr after warranty expired)

Other than that... I can't remember anything major. Brakes have been replaced at normal intervals. And I think I paid about $500 for something earlier this year. Don't remember what.

But, having had the car for 10 years, and out of warranty for the last 3 years, I have spent less than $500/year on the average, including brakes and tires.

Note: As a company policy, Infiniti dealers provide free loan cars when you get service - even after warranty.

They wash your car each time you get it serviced.

Service costs have been comparable to charges at Union 76 stations where I used to get service.

General Comments:

The car still looks and runs like new.

Even the white leather interior still looks good, and hasn't cracked after all these years. (No special care or detailing has been done on the leather.)

Extremely comfortable, even for big people.

The one big problem?

No cup-holders.
