2012 Infiniti G37x 3.7 gas

Summary:

A very nice performer with just enough creature comforts

Faults:

Interior is cheap in places and showing wear too soon.

The nav system is the worst I've ever come across.

The transmission shifting is clumsy at times.

The engine has a bit of lag at times.

2009 Infiniti G37x S 3.7 atmospheric

Summary:

Serious job by Infiniti!

Faults:

Transmission shifts were very rude, but the dealer reprogrammed it, and it's worked smooth since then.

Shift-tronic on the steering is too slow to shift gear. Better keep it in the automatic mode.

General Comments:

Nice on acceleration and sounds great!

Seats are comfortable with the Sport package. Interior is roomy, and the finishing of the cabin is sober and classy.

Push the "snow" button and the car becomes a tank over the snowy conditions!

Absolute reliability for 3 years!

I own the exact same vehicle and I would write the exact same comments!

Fast, luxurious and reliable car. Highly recommended.

How many km do you have on it? I'm considering buying a used sports sedan/coupe, and the G37 seems to be one of the most reliable options...

I own this same car and have to agree with much of the original review. It is a nice looking, refined sports-luxury sedan that is enjoyable to drive.

That said, the engine has plenty of power, but it hesitates when initially pressing the pedal. The transmission gets "hung up" when shifting in manual mode with the paddles. The all wheel drive works well, but is not in the same league with Acura or Audi.

The brakes are a bit weak and fade when pushed.

The GPS has the worst interface I've ever come across in any car, and most times I use my phone instead.

Some of the interior is a bit cheap and is showing wear.

I am being picky here, but these are issues which should have been addressed before delivering a $40k plus car to consumers. Many of these issues were not experienced in my last vehicle, an Acura TL.

2008 Infiniti G37x 3.7

Summary:

Awesome!

Faults:

I had several minor problems with the car. The seats wore pretty quickly upon owning, but the dealer had no problem fixing it.

The battery also died quickly after buying it, but the dealer was amazing. They actually put a larger battery in it, so it wouldn't happen again. So while the reliability hasn't been perfect, with the amount of technology in it, I am still happy.

General Comments:

First of all, this is an amazing car.

I am a younger person, and when I was car shopping, I found this car for very cheap, even used. When I found out it cost just a bit more than an Impala, I immediately bought it.

The car performs amazing through turns and general driving. Even in winter conditions with summer tires on it, it still handles decently well for a performance vehicle. However, a lot of people think it is supposed to be the fastest car on the road. It is not, I still consider it more comfort oriented, and it will not outrun a Corvette.

The only complaint I have with the car is the gas mileage. While it might not be as fast as some of the more sport oriented cars, it eats gas like it has a V12 in it.

Infiniti dealers also seem to be top of the line also. I have been to pretty much every dealership, other than Bentley, Lamborghini etc. And compared to the other Japanese dealerships, they are much less rude.

Every other dealer I went to, seemed like I should be thanking them for being able to even look at a car of theirs. This includes the American and German companies also.

I would suggest to anyone to take a look at infiniti if you are looking for a more sporty ride, while still being comfy. But again, if you want pure luxury or pure sport, go somewhere else; it is somewhere in the middle in my opinion.
