2010 Infiniti QX56 5.6

Summary:

Trust Infiniti, but the QX56 made me doubt their SUV prowess

Faults:

Transmission failure at 81000 miles.

Persistent electrical issues.

General Comments:

Solid-built. Felt very good.

A bit sluggish compared with my previous Navigator.

Just disappointed in the reliability issues we dealt with.

2006 Infiniti QX56 5.0 liter V8

Summary:

Fantastic all-around vehicle for any purpose

Faults:

Steering rack had to be replaced at around 110K.

General Comments:

If I had to drive only one car, this would be it. Smooth, limo-like quiet, amazing handling and tight turning radius for such a large and heavy vehicle. Extremely comfortable heated leather seats. Multi-zone A/C. Comfort for 6 passengers plus driver. Well equipped with 8" GPS, rear-view camera, Bluetooth, and 325 HP V8 with compound low 4WD. Pretty remarkable for 2006. And, it can tow a 10,000 LB car-hauler trailer with ease!

2011 Infiniti QX56 4x4 5.6

Summary:

All others pale in comparison

Faults:

Battery.

One recall.

Known issue with the timing chain tensioner.

General Comments:

Quietest, most comfortable car I have ever driven. Plenty of power. Smooth ride.

Judge it for what it is. A 3 ton luxury SUV. You don't buy it for gas mileage. You don't buy it to take into the woods. You don't buy it to run a road course. It's the perfect luxury car.

2007 Infiniti QX56

Summary:

Awesome

Faults:

No problems with this car other than some minor steering issue that was fixed.

General Comments:

Excellent SUV. Great looking, comfortable, great pickup, great handling, takes a beating and some neglect, and keeps on going.

I used to trade in every car I owned when the tires needed to be changed. I'm gonna drive this for another hundred K.

The early ones had brake issues. I had an 05 first that had 42K miles. It was also a great truck once the brake issue was resolved.

I switched from Suburbans and Yukons to the QX56. I'd take the QX56 over the GMs. They are great also, but this vehicle is much cooler.

2004 Infiniti QX56

Summary:

I love my QX56, and will definitely buy a new on in Black this time!

Faults:

Brakes. Repaired under warranty. Nice loaner car for my troubles (G-35).

Uneven air pressure in tires cause an awful sound and shaking. Scared me.

Dealer balanced and checked. No problems.

General Comments:

Wonderful to drive. Handles like a dream. Comfort is unnmatched. Could use extra power outlet at the back. Lots of compartments and storage.

2004 Infiniti QX56 V8

Summary:

A very good example of a fine luxury SUV

Faults:

Brakes started to chatter at 10,000 miles. Dealer repaired it while in warranty.

General Comments:

This luxury four wheel drive SUV is a wonder to drive. It handles well. The "smart" cruise control actually applies the brakes to slow the car down if you are cut off while cruising.

The fit and finish of the car is good, but could be improved. Even so, it is much better than the Escalade traded in for it.

Spent the weekend driving me and my 7 friends in her. Let me tell you how much this car amazed me. It has the best turning diameter in its class, and she has a fit and finish that not even the Escalade can compare to. We took her to Downtown Toronto in heavy traffic and she did a great job. What I was most surprised was that in the tightest underground parking she was so easy to move and handle. Great car, safe and I recommend to everyone!
