Faults:

Various little things, window switches, blower motor, A/C twice, not fixing it again.

General Comments:

When new, this thing was quick off the mark! 4x2 means raw power to the back wheels! Still pretty quick, but it's getting tired.

Wish the front seats had more adjustment, and were more comfortable on long trips. Serious contender with the 4runner and Pathfinder. Better quality and engine than Ford and Chevy.

Sound system sucked. 6-disc changer kept all my CD's a couple of years ago. Tweeters in door never worked. Terrible bass and lows.

Overall a good truck, can't complain because it's had a rough life back and forth to college, hauling all my stuff through the snow, and hauling all my buddies.

Still sounds great, nice roar when you put her down, quick and crisp gear shifts. Wish I had upgraded to the LSE or Iron Man edition. Looks nice in chrome! But I did get the bug reflector, spoiler and light cover kit from Isuzu, black on black looked sharp!

Faults:

ABS pump ECM failure, puts constant oil pressure on the tranny, eventually wears out the tranny. Happened at about 100000 miles. Simply pulling the fuse last year, one $2000 transmission job later, restores overall performance, and stops it using oil as well.

Ignition switch went this year, $250 at the local garage.

Blower motor burned out because the intake became clogged with leaves and debris. Pulled out a squirrel sized ball of detritus. Easy fix, $30 part, simple installation, now check it every year at the end of fall, only a mouse sized ball at a time.

General Comments:

A lot of people bash this car because when it has problems, it really has problems - the fuel sending unit is a common issue, the transmission problems - most problems are things that the average consumer isn't willing to attempt to fix on their own. That doesn't make it a problem car, just think of the things you HAVEN'T HAD to fix due to its motor being a solid and reliable Honda design. The only things that I've had to work on have been the GM parts (electrical and transmission).

As for performance, no other car in its class has the fuel economy that it does, matched with its HUGE drivetrain (compare it to full-size trucks) and reliability. A real performer, a fast and sturdy compact SUV.

If and when my 2000 'zoo gives up the ghost, I would happily replace it with another one (if I can find one with 79000 miles or better)

Faults:

6-disk CD changer didn't work, but I replaced the face with a Sony, and added a subwoofer anyways, so no big deal.

I did have to replace a gasket at 70K miles, which caused it to stall at red lights after any time I revv it above 3000 rpm.

General Comments:

It has a lot of performance for an SUV, however if you really want to use that performance, your mileage will suck. I get about 10-11 in the city, and 17-19 on the highway (averaging about 77 mph, give or take).

There is a lot of road noise on the highway, but part of that is that I've had to use a screw driver and a hanger to get my car open, because I locked my keys in there twice.

Most importantly, this car doesn't quit. No real serious problems or time in the shop, other than the gasket. I use and abuse the daylights out of this car (forget speed bumps, 90 mph speeding sometimes, intense stop and go city driving etc.) and it keeps rolling like it has since 2003.
