2001 Isuzu Rodeo

Summary:

Need some improvements, such as a drip stick, airbags improvement

Faults:

Black gummy substance leaking on the passenger side door, and the passenger rear door. when turning the rodeo jerks and back wheels spin before going into gear.

General Comments:

The rodeo has been a good vehicle until these problems started. there is no dealer in Rome, Ga. so I had to take it to Dalton, or Marietta, Ga. where I purchased it. was afraid to drive it to Marietta on the interstate.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo

Summary:

My Isuzu has been nothing but a money pit and I will never purchase another.

Faults:

They gas gauge quit working at 45,000 miles. When it took it to get an estimate on repairs I was told the the Oxygen sensor was bad and that it would be $850,00 for repairs.

The transmission began to have a shutter in it at 69800 mile. But, before I could get it serviced the warranty ran out at 70,000.

The ABS light continues to come on and off.

There have been several times that the radio and windshield wiper would not come on. We think that it might be an electrical problem.

Finally, It has been parked in the garage the last 5 month because it blew a rod at 74,000 miles. I cannot afford to keep it on the road and have resorted to driving my mother 1995 minivan.

General Comments:

I only which I could afford to keep it on the road.

I like how it handles.

I feel that the seats are comfortable compared to a lot of the midsize SUV's.

Will never buy another Isuzu and will make that suggestion to anyone that considers to buy one.

I bought the car used and the warranty would not cover anything.

First of all an oxygen sensor doesn't cost 850 thousand dollars. Seriously though, it should not be anywhere near 850 bucks to replace those. Secondly, why in the heck did you wait until after your warranty expired to get your transmission taken care of? That one is lesson learned I guess.

My 95 rodeo has 301, 000 miles on it, I drive pretty rough, and it's still going strong. i'd imagine your tranny is automatic, I've never seen a Japanese manual tranny go, and I am rough on my vehicles.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo 4wd 6 cycl

Summary:

Love it, would like to see it not have so many problems

Faults:

Wow, I am not the only one here with the Egr valve and the O2 sensor. I had my share of problems, and now that I am almost done paying for it, I am wondering to myself, gee, should I trade it in? I have several problems, but most were under the manufacture warranty, and now that has run out.

One was the car stopped on it's own, couldn't get it started and had to be towed back to the dealer. Wires under the console were burnt out. Don't know how, but they did. Next was, the transmission, I would come to a stop, and then it would bang. Sensor switch for that. Now my check engine light keeps going on. Egr valve! Cleaned it several times and still working OK after a year. Again, check engine light came on, car running fine, O2 sensor!! Ugh, when is it going to stop! Knock on wood, no problems with gas gauge or fuel sending unit...yet. My two Subaru's that I owned, one a Impreza, and the other an Outback both had major problems after the warranty was up. Loved both of those cars, but traded them in because it was too costly to repair and was under the mercy of the dealership mechanics. Heck, maybe I should just stick with American made. Any help with O2 sensor or egr valve on how to replace, please email me! tntmnd2@aol.com Thanks!!!
