1999 Jaguar S-Type 4.0

Summary:

It is fun to drive, but will be expensive to repair once out of warranty

Faults:

All four window regulators replaced.

Air flow meter replaced.

Engine coil replaced.

Trunk leaked rain water.

Coolant overflow tank replaced.

Engine thermostat replaced.

Engine cooling fan control replaced.

Steering wheel column bearing replaced.

O2 sensor replaced.

General Comments:

The performance of the 4.0 S-Type is super and it is a pleasure and thrill to drive.

The gas mileage is much better than I expected getting as much as 27.6 MPG on a 200 mile thip at 70-80 MPH country roads and some in town.

My complaint is the trips to the dealer. Too many problems, one required towing. I bought extended warranty, and I have never done that before.

Well Ur comment about the jaguar is very correct. I purchased a jaguar s type 4.0 v8 last year since then it has had numerous common problems including fan belt, radiator, rain sensors, windows, pistons, ball joints, the list is much longer overall I have spent a staggering £5.000 sterling on this car. I wasn't really impressed with its speed an internal design.

Summary:

A handsome package

Faults:

The car skidded on wet road surface during turning at about 80km/h and collided with the curb. Result: cd$6,000 in repairs.

General Comments:

Impressive voice-control technology. Powerful acceleration. Just don't let the computer traction control fool you into thinking that the car can corner at very high speeds; it won't.
