2003 Jaguar X-Type Sport 3.0 V6

Summary:

It is a classy, comfortable and reliable vehicle

Faults:

I recently replaced the water pump, alternator and battery. Except for the battery, the parts were the originals from the factory.

I need rear disc brakes, but that is normal expected maintenance.

The LED on my radio has gone, but the radio works fine.

I love my car and don't have any complaints. I owned a Honda Civic and it was always in the service garage it seems. My Jaguar is such a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride. The acceleration is instant AND I received my FIRST speeding ticket!!! 0 to 60 in 6 seconds it seems.

I paid approx. $7000 on Craigslist 4 summers ago and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. Technicians who have worked on it are surprised at the terrific condition and little wear and tear. Fully loaded. Black and shiny, and a definite head turner... impressive... and SO roomy.

General Comments:

It is a terrific car and the best vehicle I've ever driven. It feels good and looks good...

2003 Jaguar X-Type 3.0

Summary:

Great car, no problems, would buy a Jaguar again

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This car has been great!!

Going on 82000 miles, just changed brakes and rotors for the first time, and installed new struts.

Have not had any mechanical problems, and continues to run great.

The paint on the Jaguar is probably the best factory paint job I have ever seen. Looks as good now as the day I bought it (except for 1-2 chips on the front hood from rocks).

I have also changed the tires around 45000, and the only other thing I changed was a headlight.

Quick car for a V6 and all wheel drive!!!

2003 Jaguar X-Type 3.0

Summary:

A Love Hate Relationship

Faults:

Developed a sudden stalling condition at highway speeds about two months ago, which seems to be a well known problem in X Types, and is similar to a widely reported condition that existed in earlier XJ models.

The dealer was going to empty my bank account until I called Jag Customer Assistance. To their credit, they intervened and substantially limited my financial exposure, and replaced the throttle body, BUT the problem returned today. My wife is afraid to drive the car, and it can't be sold in this condition as somebody could get killed.

In case anybody is interested, a new throttle body is $1400 plus labor. My local Jaguar dealer was trying to clip me for $2100 to make the repairs, and had no clue where to look. I could really like this car if the repairs weren't such a screw job.

I have a 2003 2.5 X-Type. I have had to pay thousands to fix it once a year almost. Unreliable piece of junk. This car was only made to look nice, not actually drive... I would love it and never buy anything else, if it was reliable. I'll be buying a Lexus next.

2003 Jaguar X-Type SE 3.0 litre

Summary:

Absolutely the best car I have ever owned

Faults:

Other than the fact that the integrated cell phone is now out of date (I was hoping it could still be used), absolutely nothing has gone wrong with this car. I do wish it had a larger fuel tank though, however I can overlook that!

General Comments:

My whole life I wanted to own a Jaguar, and when I saw this car I could not keep my eyes off it, I had to have it! As it turns out, the price was right, the car was immaculate, and I picked it up the next day from the dealer. This car handles lie a dream, is extremely comfortable (and I even have back problems). It is a joy to drive, and a pleasure to own.

2003 Jaguar X-Type Luxury Package 3.0

Summary:

Way better than any of the Germans in its class

Faults:

The headlight bulb had to be replaced twice, but the great dealer service had it fixed both times free of charge.

General Comments:

After almost five years of ownership, I have to say that is the most underrated car in its class by far.

This small V6 can surprise anyone; reaching highway speeds from 0 is quick once past 1st gear. You can easily do 80 and feel like you're doing 50. Not to mention that the exhaust note will make the hairs on the of you neck stand up.

Some people don't like all-wheel drive, but if you live in the northern states, you might change your mind when you find out how much control you have in the snow and ice.

The interior is full of class, with lots leather and wood. A certified Jaguar dealer offers free maintenance 40k miles, and they will treat you like a CEO.

I can go on and on, but to sum it up, get your Jaguar X-type before Ford decides to sell the marque. I will assure you that this car will turn more heads than any BMW or Benz in its class. After five years and 80k miles, this car still turns more heads than my BMW 5 series.

This is a fun car to drive. I love the all wheel drive, especially when cornering at high speeds.

A very reliable car and underrated. The bad wrap they gave this car is not warranted. Love it.

A great testament to the fact that domestic cars are getting better and better. Who would have thought a Ford Contour could run with such distinguished company?

Two words: Cadillac Cimmaron.
