2014 Jeep Patriot Latitude 2.4

Summary:

Inexpensive small SUV - rugged and can actually do your own spark plugs!

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with it. I do notice the window foam at the top is sagging a bit, so I should get that fixed.

Mine isn’t great on gas.

General Comments:

Good economy small SUV; it's a tank in snow.

Brakes make some noise but work well.

Interior is plastic and seats in the Latitude are decent... love the storage.

Very happy with it.

2014 Jeep Patriot Sport 2.4

Summary:

This is a very basic but reliable vehicle!

Faults:

The right door seals were replaced under warranty because they were sagging at the top.

I have a cracked windshield because a semi passed me and threw up gravel and debris. I will have to pay for this repair, as my insurance deductible is more than the cost of repair.

General Comments:

I purchased the Patriot because the reviews I read were good. I have not had any problems with my Jeep, other than the door seals which were covered under warranty.

The Patriot is a very basic vehicle that doesn't appeal to everyone. However, the instrument panel is easy to read and all the controls are in just the right spot.

This Patriot does great in all weather and it's just front wheel drive. We have a small family and we needed a vehicle with enough storage for trips, and it's easy to get our daughter in and out of the car seat.

On long trips I've gotten 32 MPG. Most of my driving is in the city and I usually average 27 MPG.

I leased a 2014 Patriot Latitude with the 2.4 engine primarily for the great lease deal. The build quality has surprised me (positively) as well as the gas mileage at 24-29 MPG. It is comfortable, and so far at 8000 miles, no problems.

I have a 2008 sport 4X4 5 speed manual. 143 thousand miles on it.

The only problem I had with it was the gas cap, a leaky valve stem. I also get 32 on the highway and 25 in town. I had the front end replaced due to a separation in an off ramp in Texas that had now speed warning and I hit it at 55mph, and that was around 138 thousand.

I really like this Jeep.

Mitsubishi might not move the needle much, and there may be flaws in their initial product, but the mature product, given the chance to get it right, they eventually bring it across the finish line :)

I have a 2014 2.4 and can’t seem to get better than 22 miles per gallon... I recently changed the spark plugs, air filter and had a fuel system cleaned... best I can do is 22 MPG...
